Happy Snow Day ❄️

While today’s snow looked perfect for building the ultimate farmyard snowman… it wasn’t!

We tried to make a snowy friend for our Pygmy goats to play with and, well…
let’s just say it was a snow-fail. ☃️💥🐐

But the goats didn’t seem to mind.

How’s the snow looking at your place today? Anyone else attempt a snowman and end up with a snow… mound? 😂

To all our friends and farmily:

Our temporary closure has ended, and we are now putting muscle into our annual fall winterizing to keep all the animals warm and happy for these next cold months, getting all our winter feed supplies, and hustling in the office to organize all our fall and Holiday visits with the animals.

We are so grateful for everyone’s kind words of support and offers of help, and we look forward to seeing everyone in the Spring for our Spring Babies Festival! 💖

🚨IMPORTANT UPDATE FROM BUTTERFIELD ACRES🚨

Butterfield Acres is temporarily closed to the public following confirmation of avian influenza (bird flu) in 2 of our birds.

This decision was made in consultation with federal and provincial animal health authorities to protect the health and safety of all our animals, staff, and community. ❤

👀 Watch our website, social media and newsletter for updates as we move through this and are cleared to be open again.

If we are unable to hold Pumpkin Fest 🎃this next weekend (Oct 25 and 26) we will be contacting everyone and providing refunds. 💸

📝 What you should know:

✔ The virus is most often carried by migrating wild waterfowl — a natural part of Alberta’s seasonal ecosystem.

✔ Risk to people and pets remains very low.

✔ Our team is working closely with federal and provincial experts, and updates will be shared once they become available.

✔ Your support and understanding mean the world to us as we walk through the many small steps required to get everything back on track. This is a huge learning experience.
