**BRANDON**
ATTENTION CAT LOVERS
Have you noticed something remarkable?
The number of litters of stray kittens arriving at the Brandon Pound has drastically decreased over the years.
But do you know why?
For years, Brandon’s Vagabonds Rescue has been at the heart of this change, working tirelessly to spay and neuter stray cats. Led by the passionate and selfless Donna Gamble and Sandy Walter, their dedication to helping homeless cats has made a profound impact. Thanks to their relentless efforts, the number of stray cats and kittens in our community has significantly dropped.
But their work isn’t easy. Sandy and Donna have quietly undertaken countless projects over the years, with one recent spay-neuter project for a group of strays costing $2700, all funded out of their own pockets. They push forward despite the challenges of limited resources, with fundraising efforts often falling short due to a lack of volunteers. With full-time jobs and the animals’ ongoing needs, there just aren’t enough hours in the day.
Last year, I encountered a beautiful colony of cats while searching for a lost dog in Brandon. As expected, the colony has grown, but Vagabonds Rescue is once again stepping up, arranging a spay-neuter project to help this growing group. ❤️
