2025–2026 Intern Veterinarian Applications Now Open !

Are you a final-year veterinary student with a keen interest in sports medicine and equine practice? Energy Equine’s internship program has been developed to nurture and support new graduates who aim to pursue a long-term career in equine veterinary medicine.

Our practice features two clinics and a team of 8 associate veterinarians who are driven by the equine athlete. Each year, we select two interns to rotate every two weeks through:

✨ Sports Medicine – with Dr. Chad Hewlett, one of Canada’s most sought-after practitioners
✨ Surgery – with Dr. Jase Skelton, DVM, MS, DACVS (Large Animal), focusing on elective procedures
✨ Additional rotations – with our associates for well-rounded experience

This program offers educational experiences, hands-on training, and continued learning opportunities. We believe interns enrich our environment, and our entire team is committed to supporting their growth and confidence. Many past interns have gone on to exciting careers in equine practice, including right here at Energy Equine.

Synergy Equine Inventory & Pharmacy Coordinator

Leah Campbell is a graduate of the BC College of Equine Sports Therapy, spends her spare time barrel racing on her great horse, Player, and has been a long-time client of Energy Equine. She also has a background working in dressage and show jumping barns, which is where we ended up spending a lot of time working alongside her before she officially joined our team in November of 2020! Leah is kind, attentive and enthusiastic, and there aren't many moments she doesn't have a smile on her face. As a crucial member of our Admin Team, she plays a pivotal role in overseeing the inventory of Synergy Equine, supporting our team, as well as clients and patients behind the scenes.

We are so honoured to have Leah Campbell on our team, she is incredibly talented, dedicated, and brings so much positivity to Synergy Equine every single day.
