Wise Equine is an ambulatory equine practice operated by Dr. Brittany Wise in partnership with Nagel & Co servicing Rocky View, Calgary and the surrounding area. Services include lameness and pre-purchase examinations, dentistry, field surgery, general health, performance, digital X-ray and ultrasound. Reproduction services are provided in conjunction with Obrays equine services and include artificial insemination, pregnancy examinations, foaling, stallion collection and semen evaluation.

Summer is just around the corner! 🌞🏇🌸⭐️

With the fluctuating spring/summer temperatures here in Alberta, keeping our horses properly hydrated can sometimes be a challenge!

Here are some things that we can do to avoid dehydration this summer:

-Ensure adequate access to shade and shelter from the sun 🌞
-Maintain good airflow and circulation inside barn areas 🏠
-Keep fresh water readily available in all pens, stalls, and fields 🚰
-Soak forage and wet feeds 🍜
-Flavour the water with a splash of apple juice, Gatorade, or molasses to encourage drinking 🧃
-Ensure good hydration prior to exercise rather than forcing high a volume of fluids post exercise 🏇

We will resume regular hours (8am-5pm) on Tuesday, May 19th.

This weeks staff highlight is the one and only Sherry (Office Manager and Certified Absolute Legend)

Sherry is the heart and driving force behind our equine and bovine practice. As Office Manager, she keeps everything running smoothly while always making time for both clients and team members. She is also involved in many Bull Sales and 4H events throughout the year 🐮🐴

We are incredibly grateful for everything Sherry does and are proud to have her leading our practice! 💖
