Amaretto Ex’s & Oh’s 🖤 aka Pearl.
I don’t feel like my photos on my website do her justice so here is a candid wash bay video from last summer.
She reminds me of Lavish (her dam).
AMHA/AMHR and she might finish 34”. My linebred Impress babies shoot up as yearlings!
She is always visiting us in the field, she is happy to socialize with humans. She probably wants to show again this year too!

UPCOMING FOAL ANNOUNCEMENT!!

We were very happy to host "Loki" World of Miniatures Diago's Derby - AMHA/AMHR 29" last summer at our farm. Straight from Arizona to Alberta. 🦄 Our breeding program focuses on Arabian type, AMHA/AMHR Under miniature horses. It was time for a tiny infusion on our elegant 34" Shetland cross mares to get exotic, outcross small fillies to eventually cross to our herdsire, "Spaz" Hunterberry Hill Simply Impressive.
Hopefully by using this tactic, we would be combining the Impress linebreeding we have already had success with, with Loki's Black Velvet linebreeding, for some truly genetically powerful under 34" foals.
Or........ at least that's the vision, anyways, and we are 5 & 10 year plan type of folks when it comes to our breeding program!

We are very pleased to share that we exposed all 9 of our mares to Loki and are happy to report we had 8 confirmed pregnancies (by ultrasound, last August)! We never have so many foals due (usually around 4) but this breeding opportunity only presents itself once. And what a incredible crop of valuable AMHA/AMHR foals they will be!

Loki is:
2023 Reserve World GRAND Heritage
2023 World Champion Open Sr Stallions 28-30"
2023 National Champion Open Sr Stallions 28-30"

I was keeping my eye open for a stallion to cross to that would be a size reducer for our breeding program. In 2023 I watched Loki show at the World show and I knew (at just 29" tall) he would give us a reliably "tiny" infusion crossed on our exotic mares without losing refinement, leg length, type or the "pretty factor" that we already have throughout our mare battery!

Loki has loads of leg, show expression & a compact body with a extreme laid back shoulder and a beautiful Arabian head. Loki is linebred Black Velvet which is a bloodline known for it's outstanding broodmares. We are excited to see what Loki will produce on our Impress mares and our Knight mares.

We completely enjoyed having him on the farm last Summer as our "guest stallion". We were very pleased by his affectionate personality and kind temperament. Breeding with him, though it was a am/pm job daily for many weeks in a row to cover 9 mares, was a blast. Thank you so much to Desert Reign Miniatures for letting him come have a Canadian Summer Vacation!

For breeders committed to producing high‑quality Miniature Horses, nominating foals to the Western Canadian Miniature Horse Club (WCMHC) Futurity is one of the most rewarding decisions you can make. More than just a show class, the futurity program is an investment in your breeding program’s visibility, your foals’ future success, and the long‑term strength of the Miniature Horse community in Canada. www.wcmhc.club

1. It Elevates the Value of Your Foals
A futurity nomination signals confidence in your breeding decisions. Buyers recognize futurity‑eligible foals as prospects with:
• Canadian parentage
• Intentional, thoughtful breeding
• The potential to be competitive in the show ring

2. It Showcases Your Stallions and Mares
Futurity classes highlight the results of your breeding program in a public, competitive setting. When your foals place well, it reflects directly on:
• The quality of your stallions
• The strength of your mares
• The consistency of your program
Even a single standout futurity foal can elevate your reputation for years. In the past years, a catalog has been handed out to spectators that shows the breeding of each foal.

3. It Supports the Local Miniature Horse Community
By nominating foals, you’re contributing to a program that:
• Encourages responsible breeding
• Rewards quality
• Strengthens show participation
• Helps keep Miniature Horse events thriving in Canada
It’s a way to give back while also benefiting your own program.

4. It Creates Excitement for Buyers and Exhibitors
Futurity‑nominated foals come with built‑in anticipation. Buyers love the idea of:
• Showing a young horse with earning potential
• Participating in a program that offers prize money
• Being part of a foal’s journey from birth to the show ring
It adds a layer of fun and purpose to the ownership experience. The WCMHC Futurity show draws the biggest crowd every year.

5. It’s a Low‑Cost Investment With High Potential Return
Compared to the cost of raising and showing horses, futurity nomination fees are minimal — yet the rewards can be significant. A futurity win or placing can:
• Offset show expenses - we have brought home $400+ cheques for a top placing!
• Increase the value of the horse
• Boost the marketability of future foals from the same cross
It’s one of the most cost‑effective ways to promote your breeding program.
