This is why we encourage people to recognise dogs as family 🐕🐾

MRI studies have revealed something amazing about dogs. Their love for their owners goes beyond food, toys, or even other dogs. Scientists discovered that when a dog smells its owner, a special part of its brain actually lights up more than it does when the dog smells food or another animal.
This part of the brain, called the caudate nucleus, is connected to feelings of love and reward. The reaction is so strong that it shows dogs aren’t just recognizing a familiar scent, they’re feeling joy and affection.
It proves that when our dogs look at us or come running to greet us, it’s not just habit. Deep inside their brains, they truly love us, in a way that’s powerful and real.

Why adult dogs need to play and have suitable toys:

🧠 Mental stimulation: Toys challenge their minds and help prevent boredom (which can lead to unwanted chewing or mischief!).
💪 Physical exercise: Play helps maintain a healthy weight and strong muscles, especially for energetic breeds.
🤝 Bonding time: A good game of tug or fetch strengthens your connection and trust.
😌 Stress relief: Chewing or interactive play helps ease anxiety and keeps your dog calm.
🦷 Dental health: Chew toys help clean teeth and massage gums — a fun way to support oral hygiene.

Working dogs need both mental and physical stimulation because they’re bred for active jobs like herding, guarding, or detecting scents. Without enough exercise and problem-solving activities, they can become bored and frustrated, just like humans without a challenge.

With the heavy rain and strong winds, please keep your pets safe. Don’t leave dogs tied outside or in pens exposed. Bring them into a secure space like a garage, laundry room, or covered gallery. Be sure gates and doors are closed so they can’t escape or get lost. A little care makes all the difference.
