When Dr. Paul, our large animal expert, is caught in the wild... inside the clinic, in slides and all, doing paperwork! 😱📋

We usually spot Dr. Paul out in the field, wrangling horses and cows, so seeing him here, at a desk with a laptop, is a rare sight indeed. (We’re still not sure if he knows how to use a chair properly. 🤔)

Today, he traded his boots for slides and his stethoscope for a pen. Who knew paperwork could be so casual? 😅

We will be closed tomorrow. Usual hours from Monday.

🐶 Livingstone Shire is home to over 7,000 dogs and cats, and while we love our pets, hundreds sadly end up in the pound or rehoming shelters every year. By desexing your pet, you can help prevent this and support their long-term health and wellbeing. 🐱

To support our community, Council has partnered with participating vets to offer desexing discount vouchers for eligible residents, helping reduce the cost of desexing registered pets:
🐶 $150 off for dogs
🐱 $50 off for cats

The voucher is applied by your vet and contributes towards the overall cost of the procedure.

To all our fabulous feline friends (and their very patient humans) 🐾 — this one’s for you!

Here’s to the cats who turn into ninjas at vet time… vanishing under beds, squeezing behind couches, and suddenly becoming Olympic-level sprinters the moment the carrier appears 😂

We see you, little escape artists.

And to the pet parents who somehow still manage to get them here — you’re the real MVPs! 🐱💙

Sweet Ollie recently came into Acacia Veterinary Surgery after being hit by a car and suffering some injuries. After a few days in hospital being closely monitored and cared for, she’s now on the road to recovery 💙

We also want to take a moment to recognize the incredible care and dedication Ollie’s owners have shown throughout her recovery. From the very beginning, it’s been clear just how loved she is—right down to a home filled with all things Bluey and the constant support of her sister Luna, who even pops in occasionally to lend some much-needed moral support!

We were so touched by the kindness shown to our team as well, with homemade muffins, satay chicken lunches, and even shredded chicken for some of our hospital patients. It truly means so much to all of us.

Thank you for trusting us with Ollie’s care and for the genuine thought and effort you’ve put into her recovery.

Wishing Ollie a smooth and speedy recovery—we can’t wait to see her back to her happy, playful self ✨

Some people treat animals and then there are people who truly love them.

If you’ve been lucky enough to meet Dr. Sam you know that she is the kind of vet who gets down on the floor, whispers softly, sneaks in a kiss on the head, and sings little songs just to make even the most nervous patient feel safe. Every creature big or small, has been better for having her care for them.

While we are incredibly sad to see Sam leave the clinic, we are also super excited for the adventures that lie ahead for her.

We wanted to thank Dr. Sam for the endless hours of care, compassion, and all the little moments that mean much more.

We wish you nothing but happiness, success, and plenty of furry (and feathered) friends along the way 🐾✨

Every paw print we send is a small way to honor a life. Though it’s the hardest part of our work, it’s also the most meaningful 🖤
We’re honored that families trust us to be part of their journey, even in the most difficult moments.
