I was contacted by a couple of lovely ladies who were on a rescue mission to help with some horses who needed a new home and made the decision to take them on themselves.
This thoroughbred filly was born on the property and as far as we know had virtually no handling let alone leaving the property on a float etc.
After all of us got together we came up with a game plan to move her and after a few lessons we were able to get her to her new home where she will be cared for and get a great chance with her new life.
This filly was incredibly smart and sensible. She actually blue me away. Thank you to the ladies who went above and beyond for these horses. We need more people like you.

One thing I have learnt from working with horses is that you never know everything and you learn from them each and every time.

Not every horse walks straight onto a truck… and that’s okay.

Loading issues are more common than people think — and they don’t get better by forcing the situation.

With the right approach, patience and understanding, even the more “opinionated” horses can learn to load calmly and confidently.

I have done a bit of research and I can’t seem to find anything conclusive but I was wondering if anyone knows of any horse rescue/charities in the Rockhampton/Yeppoon area?
I know there is a brumby sanctuary close.
Back in SE Qld I transported a lot for Save A Horse Australia and Amanda Vella and I was hoping to be of some assistance to a similar charity in central Queensland.
Any information would be appreciated.
