EXPOSURE SESSIONS
Building Confident Dogs

The goal of these activities is to carefully expose dogs to many of the things they may come across in their day to day life.

A key focus in all of our programs here at Pro Dog, is developing and building confident and robust dogs.

There are also many day to day items that we don't want our dogs to obsessively chase or interact with. When we do these sessions we are promoting/developing a neutral response to these items. For example we don't want our dogs chasing/biting the vacuum/broom.

A limit of 8 spots per challenge. Unlimited spectators.

The FIRST Pro Dog Games will be held on Saturday, November 29th from 2pm – 7pm.
 
This event is open to our past and present clients.
 
COST: Entry Fee of $10 to attend, plus an additional $10 fee to enter each challenge. Spectators are most welcome but are required to pay the $10 entry fee.
 
💰The winner of each challenge will receive $200 cash and a ribbon, with also a grand champion winner for the event, that will receive $300 cash, plus a super special ribbon.
 
Four training challenges are:
 
✅ 2 min Focused Heel
✅ Sit-Drop-Stand-Drop-Sit-Stand
✅ Find-It
✅ 1 min Skill-based Routine

Day Train Program
Cost: $360 (10 week program)

SPOTS ARE LIMITED.

Our Day Train program is an add-on service, suitable for all existing daycare clients.

The purpose of this program is to develop foundational training skills and to provide extra activity/enrichment for the dogs in the program.

Clients in the program will be given access to a video library with demonstrations of all training exercises used in the program.

At the end of each session the client will receive a text from their trainer, detailing which video tutorials relate to the day’s training session, so you can continue working on the exercises at home.

The FIRST Pro Dog Games will be held on Saturday, November 29th from 2pm – 7pm.
 
This event is open to our past and present clients. Next year we do plan on holding a Pro Dog Games that will be open to the wider community (not essential to have been a client) and involve more challenges. More to come on that soon.
 
Entry Fee of $10 to attend, plus an additional $10 fee to enter each challenge. Spectators are most welcome but are required to pay the $10 entry fee.

Four training challenges are:
 
2 min Focused Heel: 
✅ Freestyle for 2-minute.
✅ No form of reward to be carried on the handler’s body.
✅ This is an off-leash exercise.
✅ Desirable criteria - sharp clean turns, adding distraction, correct position (no crabbing, lagging or forging), and we will be assessing the dog’s attitude throughout.
 
Sit – Drop – Stand – Drop – Sit – Stand: 
✅ No form of reward to be carried on the handler’s body.
✅ This is an off-leash exercise.
✅ The dog can be positioned in front of you or on your land side.
✅ The order of behaviours must be strictly followed.
✅ Verbal cues only.
✅ Desirable criteria - the dog should not creep forward or back. Front feet should ideally stay planted in position throughout the changes.
 
Find-It: 
✅ No form of reward to be carried on the handler’s body.
✅ This is an off-leash exercise.
✅ The dog needs to start in a controlled static position. Single verbal cue to search.
✅ The dog needs to go into a designated area to find and bring back a red Kong.
✅ Desirable criteria – Dog maintains focus and displays committed seeking behaviour. The dog should pick-up the Kong and return it to the handler.
✅ This will be both timed and marked on degrees of difficulty.
 
1 min Skill-based Routine: 
✅ From doggie dancing to sports skills, everything is welcome. Impress the judges and showcase your mad skills.
 
Grand Champion – WINNER
✅ This will be awarded to the best overall performance on the day.
✅ Prize $300 cash and ribbon
