Every year without fail I always find it amazing the difference a week of sunshine and rain makes to the patch in early spring. Ranunculus buds are now everywhere, the anemones are growing in height and poppies are popping 💕

I was doing some work on the website last night and accidentally hit publish on the shop pages. There’s still more work to do, I’m trying to get a date picker linked, but will keep the shop link live so that you can still order flowers in the meantime 🌸 Only small and standard posies available until the flowers really hit their stride. 24 hours notice for posies and 7 days notice for diy buckets please 🙏

Starting seeds for summer flowers on the first day of spring 🌱 Always planning a season ahead, and today I sowed trays of three of my summer favourites - cosmos, zinnias and celosia. The cosmos and zinnias are all seeds that I’d harvested from our own flowers back in autumn. If they have good germination rates over the next couple of weeks, I’ll make up some packets to bring along to markets.

These chrysanthemums didn’t appear to get the memo that our flower season is over until Spring, they just keep on blooming. While we don’t have any flowers to sell until they start blooming in August/September, it’s still a very busy time of year. Current jobs include digging up dahlia tubers, collecting seeds, clearing beds, prepping and replanting beds with seedlings and constant seed starting. It’s going to be a blooming beautiful spring 🌱
