Here is when we started to change our backyard. All the work Sam and I have put in to get it to where it is now is amazing. Everything is growing from all the compost and the castings the worms have made.

Look at that worm in the background! Nice and happy healthy worms.

Hey everyone, we would like to just introduce ourselves. Our names are Karlia and Samuel, and we are Vermiculture composters.

Our idea for starting this very new adventure was to make soil and organic compost for our gardens. We did a bit of research and found out that worms help a lot with making the ground healthier and our plants to grow better. Also using the compost makes bedding and food for the worms. And the worms make food for our gardens. So, with a bit of planning and moving things around we started with a few thousand worms and now we have too many to count.

We then transformed our backyard. It was just weeds and prickles, now we have 7 garden beds with all or carrots, corn, onions, pumpkins, cauliflower and lettuces, plus 3 big piles of composting in different stages. (photos to come). We have a few local businesses that we collect our organic material from, to help reduce waste and their bins clean.

Soon will have too much material so we will be selling some along the way. So, if you made it this far in our first post, we thank you. Come along with us on our journey to make THE BIG RED WORM FARM the biggest place in Australia.
