A lovely story of companionship and loyalty!

Judith Geppert has an impressive resume of achievements and celebrations, but her capabilities are often questioned. Her dog Teddy, however, never treated her any differently.

📞 We are having issues with our phones this morning so we have diverted them to the after hours service, if you have an emergency they will contact our on call vet for you. Apologies for the disruption! You can still book and manage appointments via our website 🐶

We’re very proud to be sponsors of Artwalk Port Macquarie x Luminance Young Artists for 2026, to support young local artists like Lana, who created this stunning piece which is currently on display in our clinic for the next week. Make sure to pop in and see this beautiful work of art in our reception area!

We are all looking to save money, utilise technology and prevent/avoid our pets from costly treatments. This is a pretty good opinion piece by an American vet that is quite relevant.

Vet clinic life is busy, varied, hectic, emotional, draining and also very rewarding if you have the right people and culture around you! We strive to help people enjoy the beautiful benefits of pet ownership and strengthen that amazing human to animal bond! We can’t always help everyone, as (thankfully!) there will always be a range of opinions, views and circumstances, life truely is like a box of chocolates 🍫💝but our great team truly is caring, strong & committed to our patients and their lucky (even if we are all a bit nutty!)

Parvo virus alert 🦠 We can confirm a case of Parvo virus in Wauchope this week in a 5 week old puppy. Sadly the pup did not survive. ☹️Parvo is easily & effectively prevented with vaccination 💉 but the virus itself can survive very long periods (many months!) in the environment & is resistant to most disinfectants so can be very hard to eliminate. Parvo virus damages the gut lining leading to gut upsets (vomiting & diarrhoea that can be quite bloody), and fever and septicaemia from the damaged bowel. The vaccines are very effective (once a dog has had their course of puppy vaccines from 6-14 weeks of age plus their adult booster, they generally have good protection for 3 years (vaccine, health and age dependent!). Sadly there are enough non vaccinated or incompletely vaccinated dogs to allow the virus to keep infections happening. Due to it’s horrible effects and that it’s virtually impossible to clean/disinfect some areas to be free of the virus, we ensure all dogs coming into the clinic for elective procedures are up to date OR have adequate vaccine titres on blood tests. Please get all puppies vaccinated by 6-8 weeks! At we keep our puppy vaccinations cost to a minimum (it’s less than a normal consult!!!) as a community service and because we believe it prevention and HATE seeing the awful effects of parvo on our great mates!
