This dog is going to be so much happier without the 11 teeth that were extracted. Thanks to dental x-rays, we were able to identify a number of teeth that needed extracting, due to advanced periodontal disease, that was not obvious to the eye on oral examination.
So rewarding for both us, and the dog.

Rip sets a new coast show record!🥇

On a hot Friday afternoon, the Dog High Jump drew a crowd as five incredible canine athletes took to the arena. The cheers were deafening as each competitor gave it their all but it was Rip who stole the show, setting a brand new Wauchope Show record with an astonishing 2.33m jump!

A huge shout-out to the organisers and volunteers who made the event run so smoothly, and to the wonderful 2026 Wauchope Show Young Women, who helped out with such grace and enthusiasm.

If you have an emergency, call 65853215 and you will be directed to Vetchat where you will speak directly with a telehealth vet. The vet will make an assessment and if your pet needs to be seen, put you in contact with the on call vet.

Just a reminder, especially with the Easter break coming up (we are closed for the 4 days) about how our after hours service runs. Both Bonny Hills and Timbertown Vets, along with 2 other local independent practices, provide a 24 hour emergency service via a third party called Vetchat. Vetchat vets answer calls and give professional advice, helping to decide whether a pet needs to be taken to one of the 4 practices for emergency care. If so, the vet on call is contacted, and arrangements are made to meet you at that particular practice. This is a paid consultation service, so please be prepared for that.
Vetchat also provide a basic insurance policy called Vetchat Plus which incorporates unlimited after hours advice, and covers 5 types of emergencies such as CHOCOLATE ingestion!! (Hint, hint).
