Ladies, if you’ve ever preferred your dog over your partner in bed, you’re officially backed by science. According to the Journal of Behavioral Sleep Medicine, women report better, deeper, and more restful sleep when sharing their beds with dogs instead of men. Turns out, your pup may be more than just a cuddle buddy, they’re a sleep enhancer.
Why? Dogs tend to be quieter, more consistent, and less disruptive during sleep. They don’t steal the covers, snore (as much), or toss and turn all night. Their calming presence reduces anxiety, promotes feelings of safety, and even helps regulate sleep cycles. Compared to human partners, who often unknowingly interrupt rest, dogs are like fuzzy, four-legged melatonin.
So if your nightly routine includes curling up with your canine companion, you’re not just enjoying a cozy habit, you’re making a science-approved choice for better health and wellness. Move over, blanket hogs: man's best friend might just be woman’s best sleep partner.
