🚨🆘 URGENT HOME NEEDED FOR TWO BONDED THOROUGHBREDS 🆘🚨

PLEASE NOTE: This is an assisted rehoming. Cadence and Ruin are not Cranky's Farm residents. We have simply been asked to help find them a safe and loving new home.

We are urgently seeking a home for these two beautiful Thoroughbreds who are facing an uncertain future through absolutely no fault of their own.

Their current agistment property at Cainbable, QLD is under contract and, once the sale settles, they will have nowhere to go. Time is running out to secure a suitable home for them and we are hoping our wonderful community can help.

💔 Cadence and Ruin have been together for the last five years and are extremely bonded, so they must remain together.

🌟 CADENCE
12-year-old bay Thoroughbred mare with three white socks. Sweet, gentle and full of personality. Although a little shy when meeting new people, she quickly forms strong bonds and is a kind, trusting horse once she feels safe. She comes when called, whistled for or clapped to and has lived happily alongside goats, sheep and cattle.

🌟 RUIN
13–14-year-old brown Thoroughbred gelding with a small white dot on his forehead. Affectionate, friendly and always looking for a scratch or a pat. He loves human company, enjoys swimming in dams and has a calm, loving nature that makes him a pleasure to be around.

💕 ABOUT THE PAIR
✔ Must stay together
✔ Child friendly
✔ Good with goats, sheep and cattle
✔ Well handled and easy to catch
✔ Up to date with farrier care, worming, tetanus and strangles vaccinations

These horses are not just looking for another paddock. They are looking for security, stability and a future together.

The reality is that without a new home, they will be left with nowhere to go when the property sale settles. We know there must be someone out there with the space, experience and kindness to give these deserving horses the safe future they need.

Today, Kevin wanted everyone to remember that beneath the chaos, the strutting, the opinions, there is also a noble ancient bird with serious presence.

A riot of texture, colour, confidence and turkey drama, Kevin gave us his regal side: the sculptural folds of his face, the armour-like layering of his feathers, the intense stare, and the unmistakable attitude of someone who already knows he is important.

What we love about Kevin is that he is never just one thing. He is ridiculous. He is beautiful. He is dramatic. He is proud. He is silly one minute and strangely majestic the next.

That is the joy of sanctuary life.

You do not just get to know animals as a species, or a label, or a rescue story.

You get to know them as individuals.

And Kevin?

Kevin is very much an individual.

From ancient-bird drama to farmyard comedy, he continues to remind us that every animal here has personality, presence, and a story worth seeing properly.

Meet the newest heartbeat to join us here. KEVIN!

Kevin is still quite young and is slowly integrating into the rooster club.

The first few days we had him the roosters would run away from him, which made him run and he couldn't figure out what they are running from. It was quite funny to watch.

We allow Kevin to free range with the Dragons (silverwing and bronze fury) and the 2 Drs who were kicked out of grey Sloan - Emilia Shepherd and George O'Malley.

But we dont lock them up together so we are now in the process of doing plans for a THIRD rooster dreamhouse.....or turkey dreamhouse.

We always make sure to make the safest and best decisions for the heartbeats here. Even if it means more work for us, they are worth it!

Kevin is still quite young and is slowly integrating into the rooster club.

We have 12 roosters and they all have a theme so that we can easily communicate the flock location to each other.

This is Grey Sloan (Drs Miranda Bailey, Jo Wilson and Levi Schmidt) plus Pants, who was going to be named after Meredith Grey but he was too much of an idiot so he's just known as Pants 😂

Strange photos to upload but I will explain.

This is Fern and Marley. They live here with us at heartbeat haven. We are permanently fostering them for our very good friends Cranky's FARM.

Ferny (Red moo on the left) is completely blind and has to use her other senses to get around. Touch is one of them. In this photo they are eating their dinner and she always puts her bum up against Marley so she knows he is there. It's very sweet!

Marley is Fern's seeing eye cow! She knows her surroundings very well but if she gets confused she calls for Marley and 99% of the time he will go to her, the other 1% he ignores her and we go out and help her find her way.
