Late to post. But the crew had a very busy weekend of Lure Pursuit and SprintDog.

At SprintDog they both clocked a smidge under 42km/ hr. Meg was a touch faster than Ted. And she earned her final points (only needed 3 😁) for her SprintDog Advanced title. πŸ†πŸŽŠ
Ted will earn his at the next trial he is entered in.

Lure Pursuit the next day was held in glorious weather and both dogs earned a qually. Miss Meg also earned first place in her class with 14 dogs entered. The judges comment was that she did the best run of the day.
I also had the opportunity to educate the Lure Operator about our breed. They commented on how explosive she was to take off, how fast she turned and how well she stuck the turns. Gotta love a fit, square dog for good speedy turns. 😍

Pending Dogs Queensland Meg's official name will be...

CH Bossdrover Narollah ET JC RN SPRD.A T.KS WWPD

8 sports titles. πŸ™‚

A video of Meg from weight pull today if anyone is interested to see how it's done. A big thanks to Penny Parker for the footage. 😊

Back from my trip away to Japan. The dogs were very pleased to see me when I got home.

We all went to our first Weight Pull trial today. But no chance to do any training prior as I've only been home 2 days.
The dogs excelled themselves today, both achieving a PB and a qually each.

Ted, finally being more businesslike and less of a fool. He pulled 360kg which is a ratio of 15.13 x his bodyweight.. A nice Q towards his Working Weight Pull Dog title. He did end up timing out as usual as he loves to sing the song of his people before he pulls. 🀭

Meg, my spicy little pocket rocket outdid herself with a Pull of 310kg, a ratio of 16.4 x her bodyweight. I pulled her out after that, as i didn't want her to hurt herself given our lack of training. Her first Q for a Working Weight Pull Dog Advanced title. She also snagged 3rd place in her weight category against some excellent dogs that pulled much more than she did.

It was a fun morning thanks to the American Staffordshire Terrier Club of Queensland and the dedicated volunteers. Many laughs were had. 😊

We have had a very busy weekend.
Saturday and Sunday I took the team to the first ever Bale Seek training sessions held in Qld (We helped run it. πŸ˜…)
The dogs already know this game and just love it. Sadly no pics of Meg as I was behind the camera. But a friend kindly took some pics of Ted. Being Ted. 🀣🀣

We ran him with 3 hidden tubes containing the quarry and he found all three in a very tidy time under 40 seconds. He loves to find them, pick them up and run around growling. He does let me have them though when I give him a "leave" command.

Then today, Monday, we joined some friends very early for a 10km hike in a state forest to practice for upcoming Working Packdog trials. The dogs didn't have a lot of weight in their packs as it was our first 10km walk.
When we were done Ted said let's do more, Meg said I wanna have a nap. 🀣

A Ted appreciation post. ❀️

His Lure Pursuit Champion Title certificate came in the mail. And he now has a custom made Lure Pursuit Champion rosette to celebrate his achievement.

He also has a new rosette made from just a small number of his many qualification ribbons, that were sitting in the cupboard. The Q ribbon rosette represents 3 years of training and trialling.

Ted has a Rally Obedience title, Endurance Test title, 2 Trick dog titles, 2 SprintDog titles, a Scentwork title, 4 Lure Pursuit titles and his new Lure Pursuit Champion title. He is also on the way to gaining several more titles this year.

Sometimes we have great success, other times we come home having learned something new and having had a great day out with friends and like minded people.
After all, dog sports is about having fun with our dogs. 😊

Ted is also great representative for the breed when we are out and about with his friendly, goofy and funny antics. πŸ˜…

Meg also went to SprintDog on the weekend. She loves the trash bunnies nearly as much as Ted. But is slightly more civilised at the catching end.
In this footage you can see her do a few somersaults in her efforts to stop and grab the bag. She was unfazed by her tumble and not injured in the slightest. She earned her Q with a nice fast pace.
Lisa Barling released Barky Mc B face for me. Thanks mate. ❀️
