I could've easily delete her comment and blocked her account, but i will not tolerate bullying behaviour from anyone, anywhere in my life. I will also call this out if I see it occur. Bullies are a scourge on society.

Tamworth's premier cat grooming salon.

When I created House of Mikoda, my vision was never simply to offer cat grooming. I wanted to build a brand dedicated to feline wellbeing—one that values education, compassion, and a deeper understanding of our feline companions.

Cats deserve specialised care. That's why I'm passionate about continually expanding my knowledge in feline anatomy, behaviour, temperament, skin and coat health, and handling techniques. Every cat is unique, and understanding these differences allows me to provide a grooming experience that is thoughtful, respectful, and tailored to the individual.

Education is at the heart of everything I do. As a member of the National Cat Groomers Institute (NCGI) and the Association of Holistic Feline Specialists (AHFS), I'm committed to ongoing professional development so I can provide the highest standard of feline care.

My hope is that House of Mikoda becomes more than a grooming salon. I want it to be a trusted space where cat owners can learn, feel supported, and gain a deeper appreciation for the importance of professional feline grooming and overall wellbeing.

Meet Chompers ❤️

This sweet little guy is 12 years young and is carrying quite a bit of arthritis.

His mum told me he does bite, is known to bite when touching his feet and legs.

I try to avoid muzzles, preferring to go very slow and gain their trust first. I will try a cone to do his nails (gotta buy that).

Chompers arrived at 10am, I drove him home at 5pm. Mum was very happy with the finish.

Thankfully, little man's groomer (Me) survived, with a few near misses.

I will post his progress at next groom.

Knowing when to STOP is a skill all groomers should have.

Jerry is absolutely adorable, but his age, and thrashing around when being groomed is getting worse.

It was time to have a new plan with his family. Thankfully, his family are on board for his needs and we're going to try CBD first.

Ive seen CBD work very well previously and use it on my senior Jack Russell and senior diabetic Cat.

Ill post our progress. Jerry deserves the very best. He is so lovely.

Dear Clients,

To ensure I can continue providing top-tier care and professional, stress-free styling for your pets, I am outlining several strict salon policies regarding scheduling, communication, and mutual respect.

High-quality, skilled groomers are in extremely limited supply, and my calendar fills up months in advance. To maintain the integrity of my schedule and protect the welfare of the dogs in my care, I am very selective about the clients I retain. Moving forward, continued booking privileges will depend on adhering to these professional guidelines:

🌟 Punctuality and Timing

Arrive Exactly on Time: Grooming schedules are precisely calculated. Arriving late disrupts the entire day and unfairly reduces the dedicated time available for the next dog.

Rebook Immediately: To secure a spot, you must schedule your dog’s next appointment during pickup. Routine grooming should occur every 4 to 8 weeks depending on your dog's coat type.

📞 Communication and No-Show Policies

Provide Advance Notice: If you cannot make your appointment, you must communicate with me immediately so the open slot can be offered to clients on the waiting list.

No Cancellation Fees: I do not charge cancellation fees because I manage my waitlist very carefully and always have at least 10 clients waiting for a spot. However, this system only works if you give me prompt notice to fill the slot.

Zero-Tolerance for No-Shows: Missing a confirmed appointment without any prior notice leaves an empty slot that directly hurts a small business. Failing to show up for a confirmed appointment will result in immediate termination of services, and you will lose me as your groomer.

🤝 Respect and Accountability

Maintain Professional Courtesy: Courteous, respectful communication is required at all times. Rude or abusive language will not be tolerated.

Take Scheduling Responsibility: If you choose not to pre-book your next appointment at checkout, you accept the risk that the calendar will be fully booked later. I will not accept blame or tolerate hostility.
