You might remember a couple of weeks ago, we shared an urgent call for help on behalf of the record number of emaciated and neglected horses recently rescued by our team.

We've been blown away by the generosity shown by our big-hearted community, raising an incredible $35,418 to fund hay, hope and healing for these horses - thank you!

While we can’t share current photos of the 35 horses currently in our care, due to active legal cases, we’re thrilled to share that these beautiful animals are steadily gaining weight, receiving expert care and being showered with love at Lincoln Park.

Your compassion is giving them a second chance at life, and we couldn't be more grateful. 💙

From heartbreak to healing. 💙

One month ago, two dogs were found tethered to a tree in remote Humbug Scrub, north of Adelaide - abandoned without food or water. Tragically, one had already passed. But the other, a young Brindle Mastiff cross named Sebastian, survived.

Thanks to your incredible support, Sebastian is now safe and on the road to recovery. He’s receiving ongoing care here at RSPCA SA and showing us the meaning of true resilience. 💪

The fact still remains - we don't know who did this. Again, we're asking you to help us identify those responsible. If you know anything, please come forward.

Together, we can turn pain into hope and give animals like Sebastian the second chance they deserve.

Anyone with information on the dogs’ owner/s, or if they witnessed the dogs being abandoned, is urged to contact RSPCA’s 24-hour cruelty hotline on 1300 477 722.

Last month alone, we rescued nine neglected horses - pushing our total to a record-breaking 35 currently in care, all with court cases underway.

That’s seven times our usual capacity, and more could arrive at any moment.

Last month, shy little Ava left our shelter for her forever home – and what a transformation she’s had! Her adopter Chantelle tells us that within just 48 hours, Ava went from quietly hiding in her crate to ruling the household with her playful energy and endless purrs. 💙

She now spends her days playing with toys, being spoilt and soaking up the sunshine in her outdoor enclosure. "She has definitely brightened up my home with her small but loving personality. And is now a permanent member of the family."
