Our approach to creating a pet memorial is deeply personal. 💜

Madeleine gently guides each family through an interview — either in person or over the phone — to gather cherished memories and stories that capture a pet’s unique spirit. From there, she writes a heartfelt eulogy, paired with either a beautiful watercolour portrait or a favourite photograph, elegantly framed to honour their life.

These custom memorials are best created when the initial shock of loss has softened — when speaking about the reasons you loved your pet feels a little less impossible, and the joy in remembering begins to return. That’s when their story can truly be celebrated.

Hi, I'm Madeleine — and I want to share with you why I started My Beloved Pet. 💜

A few years ago, my beloved cat Silverstar fell seriously ill while I was away visiting family in Carmel, California. I had to make the painful decision to have him euthanised from afar, which left me heartbroken. During a walk on the beach with my sister Daniella, I decided I would document every cherished memory of Silverstar, creating a personal memorial of his essence in writing.

In time, these written memories became my source of comfort, helping me visualise him and find solace amid profound grief. Then, one morning, years later, Silverstar visited me in a vivid dream. I could feel his fur and hear him purr, replacing sorrow with joy and peace.

I believe this remarkable experience stemmed from taking the time to preserve my memories in writing. Now, it’s my mission to help others honour their pet’s memory in a way that brings peace and comfort through even the hardest times.
