There’s something truly special about watching little ones connect with horses 🐴✨

Our Paddock Kids sessions are designed to gently nurture confidence, kindness, patience, and connection through hands-on time with our beautiful horses.

Through grooming, simple groundwork, horse care, and guided interaction, children learn to slow down, communicate calmly, and build confidence in a safe and supportive environment. Time with horses can help little ones develop emotional awareness, focus, trust, and resilience - all while enjoying fresh air, nature, and screen free play.

Our beautiful horses, Asha, Juco, and Whiskey, are patient and gentle teachers who help create meaningful moments of learning, curiosity, confidence, and joy 🤍

Paddock Kids is perfect for preschoolers who love animals, need a little confidence boost, or simply enjoy exploring the outdoors at their own pace.

Well today we trialled our new nature based messy play with the toughest and most honest critics in the whole world… Our own children! [Cue dramatic music] 😳🤣

But guess what? They loved it!

The critics (kids) had a quick snack break, and for the rest of the morning they were totally engaged in imaginative play ✨

They even said that they would play with multi-sensory, open ended activities like these once week. Phew!

We were given a gold star ⭐️

Which is great news, because between me and you, there’s a fair bit of thought that goes into making this stuff from natural products that are safe for little hands and the environment 🌿

So if you think your kids would approve of this too, we invite you to join us on Thursday mornings for our Paddock Kids sessions. And the best part? We’ll take care of the clean up!

✨ Introducing Paddock Kids ✨

A new weekly session designed for little ones to slow down, explore, create, and connect with horses at The Paddock.

Children will enjoy gentle interaction with the horses including grooming, feeding, and learning about equine care. Helping to build confidence, empathy, and respect for these beautiful animals.

Alongside the horses, we will have thoughtfully planned nature-based sensory activities. Under the shade of the trees or in the warm winter sun, children will be guided into craft, messy play and outdoor games.

Paddock Kids is perfect for children who thrive in nature, love animals, and enjoy meaningful play and connection in a small welcoming group environment.

Children must be accompanied by an adult, so for carers these sessions also offer an opportunity to unwind and meet other people in the community.

🕥 10:30am until around midday
🦄 Helmets provided for horse interaction
🧺 Bring a picnic rug and some morning tea

Soft moments, real connection and beautiful memories, made with our, ‘Horse Connection and Photo Booth’ sessions this Mother’s Day weekend.

We had such a great time sharing this experience with you all, that we’ve decided to make the sessions longer AND offer them throughout the year for other special occasions as well!!

You might not know this, but Juco and Asha are both mums too. In fact, in December last year, Juco even became a grandmother!

So, in honour of Juco this Mother’s Day, I wanted to share a few special photos from her previous owner, Kathy Doman 🙏

The first photo shows Juco with her daughter, Chance, when Chance was just a foal. The next is of Chance all grown up with her own baby - Juco’s granddaughter 🥰

This Mother’s Day, we invite you to create memories with us at the paddock.

Make Mum’s day truly special with a 30 minute horse connection and photo booth session at Lennox Head Equestrian!

These sessions have been thoughtfully curated by mums, for mums. Offering a heartfelt experience for the whole family to enjoy.

When you book with us, you’ll have the opportunity to spend quality time with our gentle horses, and connect with them through hands-on grooming and groundwork activities.

As you share these special moments together, we’ll capture natural, candid photos for you throughout the session.

We’ll also have a styled photo booth set up on the day, so everyone can jump in for fun, family portraits with the horses.

You’ll receive 8-10 edited photos from us, and can take as many of your own photos as you like.

Sessions are $95 for a family of four, and additional guests are $15 each.

For something extra special, you can upgrade for another $60, and we’ll give mum a gift wrapped Lennox Head Equestrian t-shirt and bouquet of flowers on the day - Mother’s Day sorted!!

We are currently taking bookings for next Friday (8 May), Saturday (9 May), and of course, Sunday (10 May / Mother’s Day).

Gift vouchers are also available if you’d like to give this experience to a horse-loving mum, and have the flexibility to book at a later date.

Being a horse sitter and mobile stable hand is about so much more than just feeding horses.

It’s about working 7 days a week: rain, hail, or shine. Checking fence lines, mucking out stables, and washing troughs.

It’s giving scratches, grooming, and noticing if someone has lost a shoe.

It’s rugs on, rugs off. Fly spray, supplements, picking hooves, and preparing feeds exactly as instructed.

It’s about understanding herd dynamics, building relationships, and noticing if something seems off.

Looking for lumps and bumps, treating minor cuts, watching for signs of illness, and knowing when to call the vet.

Because when someone trusts you with their horse, they’re trusting you with a member of their family. And that responsibility is never taken lightly.
