🌟 Staff Spotlight: Nurse Rachel 🌟

This week we're celebrating Rachel, one of our amazing veterinary nurses!

Rachel joined our team four years ago as an enthusiastic student at our sister clinic, Indooroopilly, and has since transitioned into a more senior role at our Sherwood clinic. Her dedication, knowledge, and passion for animal care make her an invaluable member of our team.

While Rachel loves caring for all animals, she has a particular interest in reptiles and exotic pets. She's a true all-rounder. When you visit you will find Rachel helping our clients at reception, performing nurse consultations, monitoring our patients under anaesthesia, and providing exceptional hospital care to our patients.

When she's not at the clinic, Rachel enjoys spending time with her own furry family, including Theo the Border Collie, JB (who many of you may remember as one of our Engine Kitties!), and Tippa the cat.

Outside of veterinary nursing, Rachel is also an experienced horse rider and loves spending her days off in the saddle.

We're incredibly lucky to have Rachel as part of the Sherwood team, and we're sure many of our clients and patients have benefited from her friendly smile and compassionate care. 🐾💙

Charli was more than happy to accept a tasty treat during his visit to the clinic recently! 😋

Looking at his relaxed pose, we think it's pretty safe to say that Charli is a professional couch potato at home and takes his lounging duties very seriously. 🛋️❤️

We're always happy to make visits a positive experience, and a few treats along the way certainly help!

We’ve been fortunate to have Dr Michelle as our permanent veterinarian over the past year, helping provide consistency, structure, and continuity of care for our wonderful clients and pets in the Sherwood community.

Dr Michelle is an experienced veterinarian with a passion for providing compassionate, high-quality care. While she enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, including surgery, medicine, and behavioural care, she has a particular interest in small mammals.

In addition to caring for dogs and cats, Dr Michelle regularly sees guinea pigs, rats and mice, making her an excellent resource for owners looking for dedicated veterinary care for their smaller family members.

Dr Michelle is also committed to helping nervous and anxious pets feel more comfortable during their visits, creating a positive and low-stress experience wherever possible.

As a member of the Unusual Pet and Avian Veterinarians (UPAV) group and the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians (AEMV), she stays current with the latest developments in small mammal and exotic pet medicine.
