Our vision is that every WA cat should be a well-cared for cat and we work towards achieving this by providing:
- Shelter facilities for lost, abandoned and stray cats
- Foster care program that allows sick, injured and shy animals to recover in volunteers homes until they are ready for adoption
- A re-homing program at the Cat Haven campus as well as through a network of 24 pet stores across the

metropolitan area. Cat Haven’s core business is not only about improving the welfare of cats and kittens but also about improving the lives of people in the community and protecting our environment. Our rescue and surrender services ensure stray and unwanted cats are properly cared for and placed into suitable new homes rather than being ‘dumped’ on the streets. In this way we help reduce the stray and feral cat population and all the problems these can create for people as well as protecting native species. Our re-homing services help people find a cat or kitten that suits their lifestyle thereby helping individuals and families gain the benefits of owning a companion animal. Right now, we have so many sad little kitties waiting in our shelter, all hoping for one simple thing, a chance to rest in a temporary home. 💔➡️❤️

Some are:
• waiting for a medical procedure
• recovering after surgery
• needing to gain a little weight
• learning to trust humans for the first time
• or simply needing a break from the scary shelter environment

Fostering gives these cats the quiet, comfort and love they desperately need to heal and thrive. And the best part? We supply everything you need, food, bedding, toys and veterinary care. 🐱✨

Lana Del Ray 🩷 I may start off as a shy girl but behind that cautious exterior is a playful, goofy (and slightly derpy) kid just waiting to come out. Once I feel safe with you, my true personality shines. I love to play, lounge, and fully commit to my favourite hobby: napping. Between naps, you'll often find me enjoying my favourite "shows". Yes, I'm a proud YouTube kid!

But here's a secret... I'm very food motivated. Treats are the way to my heart and I'll be your favourite in no time! I'm also a well-mannered one year old lady. I don't scratch furniture (gold star for me ⭐), as long as I have my scratching boards. And don't worry, I know how to use them like a pro. If you're looking for a gentle, sweet companion who will blossom into a playful and loving friend with a little patience (and a few treats), I might just be your girl. I hope to see you soon!

adopt Ozzy 💚 an affectionate 3 year old boy who is a pretty chilled-out individual. He likes to watch wildlife out the window and is enthusiastic about cat TV on YouTube but hasn't demonstrated much interest in chasing toys. He keeps his grooming up and can be persuaded to use a scratching post. He can be quite talkative when food is involved. He works to a schedule and will come and seek you out when he knows it's dinner time and he wants to make sure you haven't forgotten him. Otherwise Ozzie is a quiet and calm boy and most of his conversation is to acknowledge you in delightful little chirrups and warbles.

Ozzy is a very observant cat who loves to keep you company and watch what you're doing. He's not much of a lap cat but he loves being close to his people and will settle beside you or curl himself up at your feet. Whether you're working from home, gaming, reading or relaxing on the couch, Ozzy makes an excellent companion and desk buddy.

65 Cat Stories for 65 days 😻 Tess

When Tess arrived at Cat Haven, she needed something many shy cats long for but rarely find straight away, a quiet home where she could learn to trust at her own pace.

At first, she was wary of sudden movements and busy households, preferring to watch the world from a safe distance. But with patience and kindness, Tess slowly let her guard down. Before long, she was weaving between legs asking for pats, chatting to her humans throughout the day, and rewarding them with her signature "stop, flop and roll" whenever she felt completely safe.

While she's not one to curl up on a lap, Tess loves being close to the people she trusts. Whether she's snoozing beside you on the couch, curling up at the end of the bed, or watching the outside world from her favourite windowsill, she's happiest simply sharing life with her family.

Tess still dreams of the outdoors she once knew, spending hours keeping watch from an open door or sunny window. A secure cat run would be her paradise, giving her the best of both worlds, fresh air and the safety she deserves.

Tess's journey reminds us that love doesn't always arrive with loud purrs or instant cuddles. Sometimes, it's earned through patience, understanding and giving a cat the time they need to become exactly who they were meant to be.

For 65 years, Cat Haven has been giving cats like Tess a second chance. But why is the cat problem still a cat problem 65 years on?

Ringworm might sound intimidating, but it’s actually a common and treatable fungal infection, much like athlete’s foot in humans. With simple care and patience, affected cats can recover fully within a few weeks!

Treatment involves antifungal medication, medicated sprays, and routine cleaning to prevent reinfection. While ringworm is contagious, basic hygiene and precautions keep it from spreading. Most healthy pets and people fight it off easily, and with consistent care, your feline friend will be happy, healthy, and ringworm-free in no time!

65 Cat Stories for 65 days 🐾 Mushi

At 12 years old, Mushi found herself in foster care after the shelter became a little too overwhelming. Like many older cats, she was unsure of what her future would hold.

Her first night was filled with mixed emotions. She was relieved to leave the noise behind but nervous about another new environment. Slowly, with patience and gentle encouragement, Mushi began to realise she was safe. Before long, she was greeting her foster carers with happy chats, leaning in for pats, and soaking up every moment of companionship.

These days, Mushi enjoys life's simple pleasures. She loves exploring new smells, playing hide-and-seek, curling up for long naps, and accepting tasty treats whenever they're offered. Her beautiful green eyes, natural winged eyeliner, and fluffy white paws make her impossible to forget, but it's her gentle personality that truly captures hearts.

Although she's a little shy at first, Mushi shows her love by rubbing against the people she trusts, reminding us that the deepest bonds are often built slowly. At 12 years young, she's proof that age is just a number, and every senior cat deserves the chance to spend their golden years surrounded by love.

A sweet but shy girl, Coco is a young and gorgeous girl who was found homeless. Because of her timid nature, she's often overlooked and is growing tired here in the shelter. She has so much to give and will be a loyal companion to a family who have the patience and understanding to help her confidence grow. Hello future furr-ever family, I am waiting patiently for you here but it's been a while now, so maybe I should reintroduce myself.

I'm Banjo, or Banjolini, as my foster family called me. I'd be happy if you wanted to call me that too, as it means 'little cute Banjo'. I'll be honest, I like it when things are calm and peaceful, so I am ready to leave the shelter for your nice, comfortable home. I was found homeless, so I might be shy at first, but there are a few things you hoomans can offer that really help bring me out of my shell! Having my fur brushed feels so good, and I can't control my happy purrs during a good groom. And if you need a loving companion to keep you company whilst watching TV, I'm the purrrfect pet.

I'll be here waiting, but please don't leave me hanging too long. I am more than ready to join you.
