Hi, my name is Kimba! 🐶

Everybody at the refuge has been saying I have the handsomest face with my patchwork nose so I thought I should show it off 🤩 I recently made the big trip down from Geraldton and, whilst I'm feeling a little unsure with the hustle and bustle of the city, I'm so excited to start this next chapter of my life! 💙

I'd really like to find a calm home where I can settle in at my own pace and take sniffy walks in quiet areas whilst I become more accustomed to the suburbs. 🐕 With a little bit of kindness and love, I warm up quickly and promise to repay your kindness with endless kisses. I could even share my new home with kids 10 and up as long as they are nice and gentle with me 🥹

I've really enjoyed making some nice, playful doggy friends here at the refuge and it's really helped bring me out of my shell. I'd be very happy going home with a dog sibling that is polite like I am! So, ifyou've got room in your heart for a 1.5 year old Amstaff mix, I'm the guy for you 🥰

The refuge opens at 11am tomorrow morning, come on in and meet me, you won't regret it! 🐾

💙🐾 WE WILL BE CLOSED MONDAY - FRIDAY NEXT WEEK🐾💙

We will be closed to the public for walk ins and donations from Monday 25th until Friday 29th August due to building works.

Any pre-arranged appointments (surrender, adoption, veterinary or boarding) will go ahead as scheduled. Due to limited access via our front gate, we ask that anybody with an appointment parks their car and gives our reception a call on 9381 8166 (11am-4pm) or 9381 8953 (after hours). A member of our team will then es**rt you into the refuge.

Thank you for your patience and understanding whilst we work to make the refuge the best it can be! 🤩

🖤🧡 Meet our newest kid on the block – Zef! 🖤🧡

This 1 year old Rottie boy came from Geraldton in the hopes of finding his forever home and we don’t think it will take him very long at all!

This sweet young boy is super handsome, very affectionate and loves hanging out with other dogs 🤍🐶 Zef has been described as super smart by our trainers and has lovely manners but could definitely refine them with some extra training. This lovely boy is an absolute dream, he would love a fun and active family to take him on adventures and is even gentle enough to live with kids! 😇

Come and meet Zef today, we open at 11am! 🐾

Someone adopt this dog before I do! 😍 2.5 year old Bexter is a Bull Mastiff x maybe Catahoula or Harlequin Great Dane? If you look very closely he has leopard spots and his golden eyes are almost hypnotic! Bexter has had a tough start and needs a gentle home- he’s enjoyed the company of other dogs in our care and loves a good lap to sit on. Please consider this gentle giant if you’re visiting this weekend!

Meet our gorgeous Shar Pei sisters, Stella and Cocoa 😍

These girls were originally adopted from the refuge back in 2023 and have sadly found themselves looking for a home together once again. Stella and Cocoa would love to find a loving family that will not only shower them in affection but also help them to lose a few extra kilos.

Stella and Cocoa are 4 and 5 years old respectively and are super sweet, smoochy gals who are very bonded to one another. 🥰 This delightful duo aren't too interested in making dog friends and are happiest taking their quiet daily walks together. These gals would happily live with kids 8 and up once again and would suit living with full time workers as long as they have one another for company 💖

Come in tomorrow morning to meet these pretty girls 🐶

If your love language includes full body snuggles, Maggie is your gal! 🥰

This super loving 1 year old American Bulldog x made the journey down from Geraldton to find a family that will cherish her joyful energy. Maggie is truly the smoochiest girl who is very proud to show off her skills (especially paw!) and would love to continue learning new tricks in her forever home 🥰

Not only is Maggie a zoomie connoisseur, she's very sweet and playful with other doggies and is super duper excited to make lots of new friends! She'd be extra happy if she could live with a doggy brother that can match her goofy energy 🐶 Maggie would suit living with older kids (10+) that are confident with her excitable way of showing love 💖

Where are all our senior dog lovers? 😍

Handsome man Boston is ready to win your heart! This gorgeous Staffy mix found himself at a pound, separated from his doggy sibling through no fault of his own and is feeling quite sad in kennels 😔 He's now on the lookout for a chill retirement home where he can enjoy plenty of relax time and gentle love and care in his golden years 💛

Boston may be nearing 10 years old but he still loves to get out and about with his calm dog friends and enjoys taking the long route so he can sniff everything. He previously shared his home with a doggy sister and would be happy to do so again or fly solo as your one and only 🥰

🐾💙 EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST 💙🐾

We are now taking expressions of interest for the 8 Poodle and Pomeranian mixes that came into our care last week. These little ones arrived matted, filthy and terrified after being rescued from a hoarding situation. 🥺

After some makeovers, these precious babies went out into foster care where they've been learning what it's like to be loved and cared for. They are now ready to find quiet forever homes with patient, understanding families that will take things at their pace whilst they build up their confidence 🥰

Given their history living in a multi-dog household and their timid nature, it is in the best interest of these pooches to be adopted in pairs as they lean on each other for comfort. They could suit living with gentle teens (13+) that will respect their space and could even go home with other resident dogs so long as potential adopters have a permit to have more than 2 dogs 🐶

🤍❄ SNOW ❄🤍

Snow is a sweet guy who has been through a lot of change recently following his owner no longer being able to care for him 😔 At 6 years old, this medium sized staffy boy is finding the kennel environment quite overwhelming and would love a calm and consistent home to settle into 🏠

Snow absolutely loves chasing balls 🥎 and would be very happy to find an adult only family or one with teens who can spend lots of quality time with him 🥰 Once he overcomes his initial shyness, Snow adores human company and is a nice, gentle boy who walks beautifully on lead. Snow has made some polite dog friends here with the right introductions but as he can become overwhelmed easily, busy dog parks and off lead areas aren't suitable for him just yet. With some consistency, patience and love this boy will become a loyal and affectionate family member 🐾🐶

🌲 Suki’s Big Day Out 🌲

Suki has been waiting for her forever home for over 5 months now and during that time has become a favourite with our staff and volunteers 🥰 One of her very best volunteer friends took her out for the afternoon recently and gave us this report:

"Took the lovely Suki out for a hike at Bold Park today! She’s a staghound who’s been waiting for her forever home for a little while now. She’s honestly such a sweetheart. We did a 7km loop and we were treated to a stunning view of the ocean from the lookout. Suki was such a star, meeting fellow hikers along the way. She was polite, respectful and just the perfect trail buddy. On our way back, we even spotted a quenda! Suki was super curious but didn’t chase it - so proud of her for being such a good girl!
In the car, Suki was bopping her head to some 90s hip hop - I think she has great taste in music! 😉 Before returning to the refuge, we made a quick stop for a pup cup. It was gone in seconds! Our last stop was Petbarn for a new toy and treat. We made sure to grab something for Suki’s kennel mate King too! She was SO excited to bring him his presents - it was adorable seeing how much she loves sharing her happiness with her friends' 💕

Sweet young Suki is just one year old and has spent nearly half of that time without a family 😔 Suki is still full of plenty of puppy-like energy and would love to find an active family with older, dog savvy kids (10+) that enjoy getting outdoors ⛰ This sweet girl thrives in the company of other dogs, from sharing her kennel at the refuge with a friend to enjoying plenty of playdates. A doggy brother or two is a must in her new home! 🐶🤍
