We have over 110 wonderful dogs waiting for their chance at a forever home. From scruffy to high energy to seniors to big boofheads, there is a perfect dog for every person.

On this day, we at the Dogs’ Refuge Home join the nation as we remember the brave servicemen and servicewomen, medical personnel and animals throughout history who made the ultimate sacrifice in service of their country.

We pay tribute to our armed forces, past and present, and keep them in our thoughts today and everyday as we enjoy the freedoms their sacrifices made possible.

Wearing a purple poppy alongside the traditional red poppy symbolises the remembrance of service animals that also died during conflict. May they never be forgotten.

Lest we forget.

Shy girl Tailor would love to find her forever home this weekend 🥹

This sensitive medium sized girl is looking for a patient family that can devote the time to helping her grow in confidence. At 5 years old, sweet Tailor is unsure of the world around her and can be a bit startled by sudden noises. Timid at first, she is quick to whip out the full body wiggles and give lots of kisses and snuggles! 🥰

This super pretty girl is very eager to make playful doggy pals and would love to go home with a nice dog brother to help show her that the world isn't such a scary place. Being a shy girl, Tailor is best suited to living with teens who will respect her space. Given lots of positive guidance and love Tailor will make the most wonderful companion! 🐶🐾

🐾👑 George 👑🐾

Young George is a bouncy, happy, silly, 1 year old large mixed breed. He came to us from the Geraldton pound so we don't have much history on him, but we do know he is full of love and energy 💙⚡ George will benefit from living with a doggy sibling or having regular play dates with familiar dogs that match his play style. This will help keep him feeling fulfilled and build his confidence around other dogs 🐶

Even though George loves everyone he meets, his excitement and bounciness may be a bit much for little kids, so we recommend teens or adults only in his new home 🏠

How cute is Tama! 🖤🤍

This gorgeous boy was adopted from us as a puppy around 9 months ago and was recently returned through no fault of his own 😔

Tama lived with young kids in his previous home and loved being in their company, excited at times but very gentle once he settled. A real social butterfly, Tama frequented the dog beach and park for off lead play and would do well living with a doggy sibling 💙🐶 He is still a puppy at 10 months old so will need daily exercise, enrichment and plenty of company to help him continue to be the very best boy ✅

This sweet, young pup is feeling quite nervous with all the changes over the past few days, but is adjusting and warming up to our staff showing him lots of TLC 🥰

💜 Rumi 💜

This sweet, gentle young girl spent a lot of time in the pound before coming into our care and was feeling a bit stressed out in the kennel environment. She is now relaxing in our clinic office getting plenty of love from our vet nurses but she would really love to find her new family. 🥰

At 1.5 year old, Rumi is looking for a fun loving family where she can enjoy lots of outings. This sweet medium sized girl has good leash skills and will make the perfect hiking buddy. 🏔

Rumi is a polite girl who enjoys making doggy friends and will benefit from lots of positive experiences with nice walking pals. She could live with a well-matched dog brother and would suit living with older kids who are confident with excitable pups. 🐶🐾

Meet our gorgeous senior girl, Marley! 🌟

This wonderful 12 year old Shar Pei girl is on the hunt for her perfect retirement home. She has absolutely amazing feedback from her foster carer and will make such an affectionate, loving companion. Marley is looking for a quiet home where she can live out her golden years with lots of company and calm daily strolls. 🥰

This sweet older lady was described by her foster carer as very well trained, knowing drop, sit and will go to her bed when asked to. She enjoyed getting a bath and lounging about on the bed and would love plenty of company from her new family. Marley could suit living with retirees that are able to handle big dogs and could even live with calm teens (13+). 💖

As she is an older girl, Marley is past all the puppy silliness and would like her doggy friends to be calm and respectful of her space. She previously lived with another dog and has the potential to live with a confident dog brother again but would happily be the only doggo in your life. 💙🐾

How beautiful is Lula? 🥰

This stunning Wolfhound mix girl is desperate to get out of kennels and start her new life. Lula came down to the big city from Geraldton and is looking for a calm home environment in a quiet area. This country girl can be sensitive but with routine, gentle guidance and nice daily walks she will blossom. 🌸

At 3 years old, this lovely lady is shy at first but very affectionate and bouncy once she gets to know you. Lula isn't interested in rough play and would prefer to make walking buddies with calm doggy friends. She could live with older kids and a relaxed doggy brother pending a meet. 🐶💙

Meet our oh so adorable pups, Piper and Portia! 🌸

These sweet, sensitive young girls came down from Geraldton in the hopes of finding their perfect forever homes separately. At just 5 months old, these medium sized sisters are looking for calm homes with plenty of structure and routine where they can build up their confidence. Piper and Portia would love plenty of company whilst they grow and could live with dog savvy older kids. 🥰

Piper and Portia are blossoming in their confidence around other dogs and have been enjoying playtime with another young dog at the refuge. These girls will benefit from living with a nice, playful doggy brothers for them to learn their doggy manners from. 🐶🐾

Our lovely 3 year old Kelpie mix girl Pastrami got to enjoy a special outing today thanks to one of our wonderful volunteers and had the best time! Pastrami put her best paw forward and Kristýna had absolutely wonderful feedback to share about this special girl. 🥰

"Today, my friend and I had the absolute pleasure of taking Pastrami out for an adventure — and wow, what an incredible girl she is. ❤️

We ended up walking 15 km, and Pastrami was amazing the entire time. She was so happy to be out exploring, her whole body was just radiating joy. She pulled a little bit at the beginning because she was so excited, but it was nothing hard to manage at all. Very quickly, she settled into a beautiful rhythm and walked with us like a true companion. 🐾

Pastrami travelled beautifully in the car — relaxed, quiet, and just happy to be along for the ride. She was also perfectly behaved around other dogs, strangers, bikes — you name it. Nothing fazed her. She was confident, easy-going, and just so wonderful to be around.

She is one of those dogs you bond with instantly. You can feel her gentle, loving soul shining through. It’s impossible not to fall in love when she looks at you with those soft, trusting eyes.

She is still waiting for her forever home — and whoever adopts her is going to be incredibly lucky."

This big love bug is Stitch! 🌺

Stitch is currently enjoying his time in a loving foster home but he would really love to find his Ohana. This boy has the biggest heart and whilst he can be shy with new people, he craves all the attention once he has warmed up. Loyal and loving, this 4 year old boy is looking for a calm, quiet adult or older teen home where he can be showered in affection. 🥰

Stitch is looking for strong, active owners to take him on his daily outings in quiet areas. This boy already knows his basic obedience and walks nicely on lead- he will make a wonderful adventure buddy! Stitch would prefer to be the only pooch in your life and could suit living with full time workers. 🐶🐾

✨Let's keep the good vibes going this long weekend with a Pupdate!✨

Today we are checking in on the lovely Diesel who was a very loved office dog whilst he was in our care. He got to spend a fair bit of time on foster with a loving couple who, after having a break from fostering, missed him so much that they knew they had to come back and officially make Diesel a part of their family!

"We adopted Diesel in October last year but we previously had been fostering him while we both worked fifo. We already knew he was the best boy.

With a new addition to our family, Diesel has been the best big brother you could ask for. He is so gentle with our daughter Amelia and wherever she is, Diesel is there too!

Diesel loves to go for walks, have zoomies in the garden and most importantly loves cuddles with everyone. He is the sweetest boy!

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to have Diesel be a part of our family"

Handsome man Steve is so ready to get lots of treats this Easter 🐰💙

This 3 year old Amstaff boy is a big fan favourite amongst our team of volunteers and staff, and we're sure many people who keep an eye on our pages! Steve has been waiting a whopping 751 days to find his forever family. 🤯

Steve can be shy around strangers but is oh so loving and loyal to his trusted people. He is looking for an experienced family that lead an active lifestyle where he can get out and about on fun adventures. This sweet boy will make an amazing hiking buddy- he walks nicely on lead and already knows some tricks! 😍

Steve has wonderful feedback from his previous home where he was regularly socialised with dog friends at the beach and park. He even helps to bring the shy doggies at the refuge out of their shells! Steve absolutely adores his best friend Cali and would really love to go home with a dog sibling. 🐶🐾

🐢 TURTLE 🐢

This 4.5 year old Rottie mix boy came into our care from a local pound in search of his forever home. Turtle is a sweet but nervous guy who is super affectionate once he is comfortable- he's just a lap dog in a much larger body! He is looking for an experienced family with adults or dog savvy teens (16+) who will advocate for his space. With a good settling in period, Turtle could even suit full time workers! 🥰

Turtle is an excitable boy that loves to get out and explore. He would love to do fun enrichment activities like training classes, trick training and potentially even some fun dog sports! Whilst he loves to explore, he's a quiet life kind of guy and prefers to be walked in low traffic areas. 💙

Turtle is super enthusiastic with dog friends and is currently in a wonderful foster home with two other dogs that he absolutely adores. This super sweet boy will love lots of opportunities to make well-matched dog friends and must go to a home with a dog sibling, or two! 🐶🐾
