It's currently wetter than an otter's pocket! We've had a decent amount. Wet doesn't describe it. How much did you get?

Winter is pretty much here! We're taking the time to clean out everything ready for breeding season in the spring.

For anyone that hasn't seen these before, the brooders were originally built as snake cages. It means we only use heat plates for chicks and have peace of mind they're warm. The only thing to think about these is when it comes to ventilation and keeping clean (like any brooder).

Vorwerks are taking over as a breed! They have a lot to offer. It could definitely be seen from our guest speaker as she told us in no uncertain terms "cluck cluck cluck"!!! The audience was pretty impressed to see this from a chicken 🐔

Project 💝
This is one of the Blue Vorwerk pullets that we've grown out. The blue is on the way but just not good enough around the neck yet. Leg colour is correct and the general shape is about right. I think it'll be another generation, if not two generations to get it right.
