Rochester vet practice will be closed on Monday 9th of June for the Kings Birthday. This means we will not have an order delivery until Wednesday. If your pet needs medications please place your orders by tomorrow 3pm to ensure we have them ready for you.

Coming up to the Easter Holiday period we wanted to remind everyone of our opening hours over this time and give people time to order medications in advance.

Our opening hours are as follows:
Thursday 17th April: 8:00am - 5.30pm
Good Friday 18th April: CLOSED
Easter Saturday 19th April: 8:30am - 12:00pm
Easter Sunday 20th April: CLOSED
Easter Monday 21st April: CLOSED
Tuesday 22nd- Thursday 24th April: 8:00am - 5:30pm
ANZAC day Friday 25th April- CLOSED
Saturday 26th April- 8:30am-12pm

We will have vets on-call avaliable for small animal and farm animal emergencies. Please call the practice on 03 54 84 22 55.

Remember chocolate 🍫 is toxic for pets! Chocolate contains methylxanthines theobromine and caffeine. If your pet eats chocolate it may show the following signs; vomiting, diarrhoea, restlessness, excessive drinking and in high doses, seizures and possibly death.
Treatment will depend on the amout eaten and time after ingestion. So this Easter, please keep chocolate out of reach from your pets!

🎉 Meet the Faces Behind the Young Dairy Network! Edition #4 🎉

🌟 Meet Ashley Phipps: Veterinarian & Practice Partner at Rochester Vets & Young Dairy Network Committee Member! 🐄👩‍⚕️

Ash joined the committee because, as a service provider, he’s passionate about giving back to the dairy industry. 🐄 He wants to share his expertise in cattle care, treatment, and management to help young farmers thrive. 🚜 But it’s not just about offering advice—he’s also eager to understand what the next generation of dairy farmers need from service providers and the wider farming community to succeed. 🌱👨‍🌾

When he’s not helping cows, Ash is out there tackling obstacle course races! 🏃‍♂️💥 He’s represented Australia in OCR and even snagged a gold medal 🥇 in a 24-hour endurance event a few years back. Talk about endurance! ⏱️🏅

Ash is all about supporting young farmers and bringing his unique perspective to the table. 🤝👨‍🌾

Tonight a group of us went to Leaps and Bounds in Echuca to get a demonstration of their new Hydrotherapy pool. Dr Nisa’s dog Tonto is pictured below having his first session. Katherine is a qualified canine remedial massage therapist. As well as having Echuca’s only canine hydrotherapy facility, she also offers massage and laser light therapy. Our vets work closely with Katherine to ensure that your animal gets a rehabilitation plan that is tailored to their needs. Rochester Show has let us know that they will be having another amazing fireworks display! While this is amazing for viewers and amazing that we have such a great show in our town, if your pet gets nervous with loud noises, it’s important to keep them safe on Friday night. Sometimes pets require medication to help keep them calm, so if you think your pet might need some help, please give us a call before Friday 🙂 The fireworks are happening at about 9:15pm on Friday 21st Feb! We hope you enjoy the Show!
