Clydesdale x Gypsy Cob

Aurora is 50% Gypsy Cob and 50% Clydesdale and is dual registered with both the Clydesdale Cross Sport Horse Association Inc. and the Gypsy Cob Stud Book Register.

This eye-catching mare has a kind nature and is a pleasure to handle on the ground. She is easy to catch, lead, groom and enjoys spending time with her people.

She has three beautiful, balanced paces, established basic lateral work, and is soft, light and responsive to the leg. She would particularly suit someone with an interest in dressage who is also looking for a versatile all-rounder to enjoy adult riding club, trail riding, ranch work and obstacle activities.

Aurora floats and trucks with ease, paddocks happily with other horses and is a no-fuss, drama-free mare to have around.

Like many sensitive horses, Aurora can occasionally be a little unsure in unfamiliar situations. She is not nasty or difficult—she simply looks to her rider and handler for reassurance. She is seeking a kind, patient and knowledgeable home with a confident intermediate to experienced rider who enjoys building a partnership through consistent groundwork and sympathetic training. Given time, consistency and understanding, Aurora forms a wonderful relationship with her person and continues to grow in confidence.

With her striking silver colour, quality breeding and willing attitude, Aurora has all the ingredients to become a very special partner for someone who values connection as much as performance.

She is offered only to the very best of homes where she will be loved, appreciated and given every opportunity to continue her education.

Hold that wormer!!!
FECC is recommending putting down the wormer and waiting until late autumn/early winter. In the past we have recommended waiting for the "first frost" we do this because it's an easy visible reminder for horses owners in our part of Australia.
BUT..... we need to wait for consistent cooler nights of zero or below, I know in my region we have had some light frosts but overall nighttime temps are not low enough yet or consistent for worming to start so put down the wormer!!!
Why wait? Because we are trying to target as many parasites as possible for this worming treatment. The parasites listed below are the main targets, but we are also treating parasites not listed.
Bot Flys. We are trying to break the bot fly lifecycle which will lead to a reduction of the adult bot fly population. So, we wait until the entire bot fly population is inside your horse - no longer flying/laying eggs on coat, and they are in the correct place in the gut to be susceptible to the wormer.
Tapeworms should be treated for once a year and waiting till late autumn/ early winter is the lifecycle stage they will susceptible to the worming treatment.
Encysted Strongyles - if present will begin emerging slowly at this time of year and this is preferable. If you worm too early you may trigger a mass emergence which may lead to medical complications.
If you are in warmer areas, northern Australia, tropical areas that dont experience the cooler temps - feel free to message us for advice on what to do in this situation.

About Burrito:
He is a big teddy bear that loves to please. He loves attention, snuggles and snacks!
Would love to live in your house.
Has a yes sir attitude, pull out an go straight from paddock but does thrive off some slow ground work, gentleman to handle.
All very comfortable paces, just a quick stepped canter. Very good brakes!

Likes a clear rider, I find he works off his person.
If you have a very hot seat he will go! But if you are a rider that struggles to get horses moving he will plod.
A novice rider will have no issues with this guy, just not a rider that can get super nervous.

Definitely a horse that does better in a cow arena or trail riding then if your looking for that pretty flat work horse.

Floats and trucks with no drama on straight and angle.

Loves friends in the paddock but doesn’t care if you take him away or take them away.

🔹Lightly campdrafted
🔸Done station work - mustering.
🔹Trail riding - loves it!
🔸Clinics

What burrito is looking for:
A forever home that will give him plenty of TLC and treat him like a king.
A person that wants a really cool, fun gelding to go on many adventures.
A home he will live in a paddock with other horses.
He loves kids, has no issues with dogs hanging around.
The right person to allow more then one veiwing before making any decisions.

FYI
Burrito came here to solve some training blocks and find a suitable home when he was ready, he has been here since last year and has been put up and taken down as we have slowly been unraveling this sweet boy!
Previously he would get some tension through his body and freeze/ hesitate with mounting, struggle to back up, feel a little unsure if the rider was too hesitant with aids.
With time and some mechanical readjustments and new patterning through his body, I find him very quiet and so much fun and willing to pull out and ride.
We have just not found a suitable match yet!
