😢 Today we say goodbye (and a huge thank you) to the incredible Natalie, who’s been with us since September 12th, 2017, back when we were Dr Paws and proudly rocking the iconic brown scrubs! 🤎

Over the years (and three uniform changes) Natalie has brought a wealth of knowledge, unshakable dedication, true compassion and a next level work ethic to everything she does 💪 She’s inspired everyone around her and always went above and beyond, not just for the team, but for every single patient in her care 🐾 She brightened days, cared deeply and showed up with heart and kindness, every single time 🙌

We’re endlessly grateful for the role she’s played in our journey. And while it’s hard to see her go, this isn’t goodbye 👋 it’s just see you soon! Keep an eye out around Port for Natalie and her gorgeous little Italian greyhound, Sidney 🐶 they’re hard to miss and even harder not to love!

🎆 Fireworks can be frightening for pets because they are loud and unpredictable. Here are some tips to help your pets stay safe and comfortable during fireworks:

🐶 Create a safe and familiar space for your pet to hide away from windows and bright lights. This could be a bedroom, laundry, crate, carrier etc.
🐱 Try to reduce noise; close windows and curtains to muffle the sound of fireworks, as well as play calming music or white noise on the tv.
🐶 Distract your pet by playing with their toys, having a good game of fetch or giving them a food puzzle such as a lick mat, snuffle mat, long lasting chew etc.
🐱 Comfort your pet during this time as your pets reactions are based on a legitimate fear.
🐶 Be aware of local fireworks displays, as well as potential release of illegal fireworks. Adjust your plans and try to ensure your pet is not home alone.

Veterinary Nurse & Technologist Awareness Week 2024 🙌

October 7-11 is a week all about the hard working nurses and techs in vet clinics all around Australia. Oxley Highway Veterinary Hospital wants to say thank you to all of them for their unwavering dedication to their jobs.

However, an even BIGGER thank you to our very own nurses 💞 Tammy, Natalie, Taren, Ebony, Bec and Mikayla. Our nurses are versatile, the ultimate jack of all trades. Our nurses are resilient, getting us through some of the hardest moments. Our nurses are quirky, you’ve got to laugh when you’re bagging up yet another poo sample. Our nurses are empathetic, they really do love animals. But more than all of that, our nurses are truly dedicated. They 100% give their all to their patients.

Our vet nurses are superheroes. And while the animals can’t say thank you, we can ❤
