hey are not complicated animals, its humans that make it seem so. If you let them, they will take advantage of you very quickly. Without a leader it is not clear what is expected of them. Everything should be binary, they can, or they can’t, no grey areas this is what creates issues. Dogs don’t take things personal when you ask something of them. They respect, understand, and need authority in their life. This is what keeps control of the pack & you have to be the leader. Being a former Military Police Dog Handler I have trained dogs to an exceptionally high standard. These methods are what I use to teach you how to train your own dog. The key to good training and handling is understanding how to communicate on your dog’s level. This is something I will teach you, and after mastering this, the responses and bond with your dog will improve exponentially.

Find the 🔑 Riley.

This was a nice little training track with Riley having to do 2 corners and a hard surface crossing. You will see on the corner he went past the end of the track but then backtracked really well to pick the track up again and cross the road.

Next real world session is on Saturday, August 29 from 8:00am to 9:00am

This week we will meet at Westport Park near the big tree by the kids park.

To join this class your dog needs to have basic level obedience, up-to-date vaccinations and handlers have to be 16 and over.

This session is designed to help owners transition into real world environments with their Dog to improve all handling skills, basic obedience along with management around other dogs.

When you come to a class, please bring your normal training lead, a long lead for recall training and any rewards that you would like to use during the session.

To book on a class go to my website www.jasonharrisdogtraining.propetwsre.com then create a profile for your dog and make your way to group classes.

If class is cancelled due to bad weather, I will advise on social media and via an email through our online booking system.

When using training tools like tug toys with your dog, there should always be rules of play.

In this situation Riley knows no matter what I do with the ball he is to maintain eye contact if he wants to have it.
