‼️ TICK PARALYSIS ALERT ‼️

We’ve treated two cases of tick paralysis this week - a reminder that paralysis ticks are active and dangerous in our area right now, despite the wet weather.

🐾 What to look for:

✅️ Wobbly or weak back legs

✅️ Trouble standing or walking

✅️ Change in bark or meow

✅️ Coughing, gagging, or vomiting

✅️ Difficulty breathing

Tick paralysis can be life-threatening if not treated early. Please check your pets daily (especially around the head and neck), keep up with preventatives, and call us immediately if you notice any symptoms.

Last night, our hospital was targeted by an individual whose actions showed a complete disregard for respect and human decency.

This person deliberately interfered with our premises, switching off the hospital’s power supply.

As a result, our business has suffered losses exceeding $10,000 in essential medical supplies, including vaccines, critical antidotes such as snake antivenom and tick serum, and other life-saving medications. These are not just “items” — they are the difference between life and death for the animals in our care.

If you recognise this person, or have any information that could help us identify them, we would be extremely grateful for your assistance.

Please take care when driving to avoid any ducks on the road. There's been a high number of ducklings rescued recently after their parents have been hit by cars, leaving the ducklings defenceless and on their own 😭

For now, these guys are getting some extra love and attention ❤️🥰
