Group Obedience – Week Recap 🐶

This week we drilled recall—getting your dog to come back when called, first time, every time. It’s one of the most important commands for safety and everyday control, whether you're at the park, the beach, or just heading out the front door.

We worked through distractions, built consistency, and helped owners understand how to make recall clear and rewarding for their dogs. No gimmicks—just practical training that works.

Thanks to everyone who showed up and put in the effort. Your dogs are getting sharper each week.

Next session: same time, same place. Let’s keep building reliable obedience.

Session 2 – Puppy Obedience

Another wet one today. The ground was soaked, the pups were drowned, and the humans were cold —but the progress was real.
We worked through distractions, built on engagement, and saw some solid improvement in focus and control.

Appreciate everyone showing up and sticking it out. Consistency matters, and it’s paying off. See you next week—hopefully with less rain (We are bound to get some decent weather in one of these sessions eventually)

Week 2 – Group Obedience Class Update

This week we focused on place training — teaching dogs to go to a defined spot and stay there until released. It’s a simple concept, but it builds serious control and reliability.

We covered:
🔹 How to introduce the “place” command
🔹 Getting solid duration and distance
🔹 Managing distractions (other dogs, movement, noise)

Place training is one of the most useful tools for everyday life — whether it’s keeping your dog out from underfoot, helping them settle around guests, or creating structure in busy environments.

Everyone put in solid work this week. Dogs are starting to get the idea, and handlers are building consistency. Next week we’ll push further again.

It was a great night for all involved!

Session 2 – Cold, Wet but definitely worth it! (Puppy Group Class)

Saturday’s Puppy Group Class didn’t just test the dogs—it tested the humans. Wind and rain made it one of the roughest training days we’ve had but no complaints—just solid commitment from owners who are serious about their dogs.

In spite of the conditions:
- We pushed through foundational skills and engagement work.
- Puppies learned to stay focused even when getting wet and under significant distractions.

- Owners got their reps in—soaked gear and all.

Training in tough conditions builds real-world reliability. And for the dogs, that’s golden.

Next week: hopefully drier.

Group Obedience Training - August
Last week marked the start of our latest group obedience class.

Session one wrapped up last week and it was a solid start. We’ve got a large group of handlers and dogs in this group with everyone eager get started on their journey to achieve their respective goals with their dogs.

We hit the ground running with foundational obedience skills and laid the groundwork for what’s to come. The energy was focused, the dogs engaged, and the owners didn’t miss a beat.

Looking forward to building on this momentum in session two.

Precision K9 Training is kicking off its multi-discipline DogSport class next week—and this one’s built for versatility. Whether you're into IGP, Mondio Ring, ANKC obedience, or just chasing high-level engagement and control, this class has been designed to support it.

It’s open to handlers at all stages—from newcomers wanting a taste of the sport, to seasoned competitors fine-tuning their routines. We’ll focus on foundational precision, drive-building, and discipline-specific skills to push dogs and handlers to the next level.
