❤️ FAREWELL TO THE OLDEST RACEHORSE IN THE WORLD: The horse New Years Eve (by Night Conquistador), said to be the oldest living Thoroughbred in America, has passed away at the age of 39. His longtime owner, Julie Izzo, who cared for the gelding nicknamed ‘Axl’ for over 32 years, announced that he peacefully ended his life on May 13, 2025.

In her statement, she wrote: “I will always be grateful for our many years together. A piece of me will always be missing. He wasn’t an extraordinary racehorse. But he was extraordinary to me.”

Axl is believed to be the second oldest American Thoroughbred ever recorded, passing away at 39 years and 57 days old. The oldest known American Thoroughbred in history, a gelding named Dead Solid Perfect, died in 2022 at 39 years and 188 days.

Born the same year as legends Sunday Silence and Easy Goer, Axl raced only 18 times before retiring and eventually going to live with Julie, where he found his place by her side.

Every little girl carries a dream she never truly lets go of, even as she grows up. A dream of a loyal friend — the one who understands without words, who stays close when the whole world feels distant.

Between small hands and a warm muzzle, there are no barriers — only pure, honest love. These are the moments when a heart learns to believe in miracles, and not even the passing years can erase the memory of that pure happiness.

Never lose that magic. Never forget what it feels like to love with all your heart and to trust without fear.

Common Signs our horses indicate they are relaxed during a Equine Assisted Learning, Equine assisted Psychotherapy or Reiki n the paddock sessions

Lowered head and neck – A relaxed, drooping head is a strong sign of release and trust.

Soft eyes – The eyes may appear half-closed or "sleepy," with a soft expression.

Licking and chewing – Indicates parasympathetic nervous system activation (rest-and-digest mode).

Yawning – Often repeated, yawns are a major sign of release and relaxation.

Blowing or sighing – Deep exhalations through the nose show release of tension.

Drooping lower lip – A slack or gently hanging lip shows the horse is at ease.

Ears relaxed or softly flicking – Ears not pinned or hyper-alert, but gently moving or hanging.

Shifting weight and resting a hind leg – A horse resting a hind leg often signals they're relaxed and comfortable.

Softened muscles – You may feel muscles "melt" or loosen under your hands.

Gentle tail swishing – A calm, slow swish (not agitated) can signal contentment.

Our horses always have the choice whether they would like to participate in any sessions and have the opportunity to move away when they choose to

Please reach out to us if you would like more information on the type of sessions we offer and session availability
