As access to digital mental health support continues to grow, we are encouraged to see more people reaching out for help and support when they need it. However, at Animal Therapies Ltd, we are also increasingly concerned that many young people may be losing opportunities to develop the interpersonal skills, emotional regulation, and real-world connection that come through face-to-face relationships.
Animal-assisted services create those opportunities for people to slow down, engage socially, build trust, develop empathy, and reconnect with themselves and others in meaningful ways.
Animals do not replace human relationships โ they help strengthen connection.
Whether itโs through therapy, education, social work, counselling, or community programs, animal-assisted practice can support emotional wellbeing while encouraging authentic interaction, communication, and connection.
As technology becomes more integrated into our daily lives, we believe it is more important than ever to provide spaces where people can experience genuine connection, compassion, and belonging.
