There’s nothing that makes our hearts happier than hearing how our adopted cats are settling into their forever homes and being their true quirky, cuddly, and cheeky selves! ❤️

Here's a purr-fect update on little Frankie, now known as Cordelia:

“She has settled really well into our family and become best mates with her older brother Onix. She no longer hisses at any of her kitty family members and they now exchange grooming and affection, it’s been so lovely to see her relax and welcome the love!

Cordelia does try to trick us into second breakfasts (classic move), but our communication is just a bit too on point for her sneakiness 😹

She’s a total climber and LOVES her tall cat trees and playgrounds. But her favourite place right now? The shower, when it’s off, of course! We’re not sure why, but she’s obsessed, and we’re obsessed with watching her enjoy it. (Her cat siblings are a bit confused, but she’s unbothered!)”

Thank you so much to her lovely family for giving her the safe and loving home she deserves 💖 And thank you to all our adopters for helping us change lives, one cat at a time.

We’re still buzzing from the purr-fect night under the stars! 🐾💫

A massive thank you to the incredible team at Deckchair Cinema for hosting our Movie Night Fundraiser last night. Your support helped us shine a spotlight on rescue cats while bringing our community together for a heartwarming film and some sweet treats. 🎬🍰

We’re so grateful to everyone who came along, bought raffle tickets, donated, or simply shared a smile, every bit of kindness helps us give stray cats in the NT a second chance at life. ❤️

About Us...

Hello!

Allow us to introduce ourselves; we are A Safe Place For Meow. We are a local organization aimed at saving the lives of cats and kittens in the Northern Territory. Our goal is to provide a safe home environment and medical care for stray cats. We are a small group created by veterinary staff with the objective preventing the euthanasia of healthy, loving animals when the major groups are full.

Major rescue groups are inundated with a constant flow of animals including strays, surrenders and pound rescue. We hope to lighten the load for these major rescue groups by providing interim foster care and desexing of animals, allowing other groups to focus on other areas of rescue.

To achieve this we offer adoptions directly through the group whilst waiting for potential space in the major groups. Adoption directly through the group allow space at the local shelters for other animals.
