Love, Respect, Empower! 💛

This year’s Sydney Pride Month theme resonates well beyond the city — it’s a powerful message echoing across the country and part of a global initiative supporting the LGBTQIA+ community.

ZEN’s impact extends beyond the environment. It is about the connection between people and planet, building a future grounded in harmony, inclusion, and mutual respect.

To keep this conversation going, we asked our team: What does it mean to you to feel empowered—and to empower others?

We will share some of the answers throughout this month, starting with Melanie, ZEN Customer Engagement Officer. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us, Mel. 💬🌟

On Tuesdays, we wear yellow. 🤾‍♀️

Buckle up — our Winter Sports Team is here!

At ZEN, wellbeing is one of our core priorities. That is why we have a dedicated Social & Wellbeing Committee leading initiatives that support connection, fun, and self-care throughout the year, particularly during the winter months.

Cold days, warm hearts. 🫰

Templers is charging ahead! ⚡️

We recently celebrated the last day of ~20 CPP onsite workers with a relaxed gathering to acknowledge their efforts over the past year of construction.

Though often behind the scenes, their contribution has been front and centre to Templers’ success. As a token of appreciation for that, we surprised them with customised project T-shirts, gearing up as part of Australia’s transition to renewable energy.

Adding extra energy to the day, our grads Abishek, Jesal and Pramugdha joined in, marking their first visit to the site, which, according to them, was a “very exciting” experience.

A great mix of high energy (literally!) and well-deserved recognition.

Congratulations to Maxwell Weppner and the team involved in this remarkable project. Once operational, Templers will deliver 111 MW of battery storage to South Australia's grid, providing reliable and renewable energy.

ZEN welcomed a delegation of Taiwanese journalists to South Australia this week and briefed them on our business strategy, which has renewable energy storage assets at its centre.

Our joint venture partnership with 泓德能源 HDRE through the platform, has created great excitement and momentum towards helping South Australia reach its goal of becoming 100% renewable by 2027 and adding an extra gigawatt of storage capacity nationally. ⚡🔋

Motivational Monday. 🌍

“The ocean can recover faster than we had ever imagined; it can bounce back to life.”– Sir David Attenborough, an English broadcaster, biologist, natural historian and writer, in his powerful new documentary, Ocean.

The deep blue is the planet's support system and a key protection piece of the climate change puzzle. Now, at nearly 100 years old, Sir David is still showing up to remind us that if we stay diligent, it is not too late to protect what we love.

The upcoming 2025 UN Ocean Conference presents an opportunity to reflect on the symbiosis between global leaders stepping up and us holding them accountable to drive the shift we need.

Let this inspire our week - and our lives - to make choices that protect our shared future. 🩵🌊

In his keynote address to delegates at the Energy Users Association of Australia (EUAA) conference this morning, the peak national body representing major Australian commercial and industrial electricity and gas users, ZEN Director and The Superpower Institute co-founder, Professor Ross Garnaut emphasised it is this moment, following the weekend’s election result, to step forward and seize the opportunity to become a renewable superpower:

“Saturday’s election has not changed in any way the physics, economics or ethics of climate change. What it has changed is the capacity of Government in Australia to establish and maintain policies that will allow us to reduce domestic emissions in line with our international obligations.

“It has strengthened the capacity of Government to introduce and sustain policies that support Australia in contributing disproportionately to global decarbonisation by supplying goods embodying renewable energy that the high-income economies of Northeast Asia and Europe cannot supply at reasonable cost from their own resources.

It has opened an opportunity for Australia to leave behind a dozen years of stagnation of living standards, and to enter a new era of full employment with rising incomes for an increasing population.”
