Forrest recently visited the clinic to have arthritis evaluated🦴 He was given sedation and then we took a series of x-rays to see what his joints look like. He was very brave for his procedure and recovered well from his sedation!😋🐱

HEAT STROKE☀️🥵
With all this hot weather we’ve been having, it is very important to stay aware of the risks of heat stroke in pets!
Heat stroke happens when an animals temperature becomes dangerously high. Heat stroke can cause symptoms such as:
- Difficulty breathing
- Vomiting
- Excessive panting and drooling
- Lethargy and weakness
- In severe cases, seizures

The best ways to prevent heat stroke include:
✅ Avoiding strenuous exercise on hot days
✅ Going for walks early in the morning or in the evening when the temperature isn’t so high and the sun isn’t so intense
✅ Taking frequent breaks during walks to rest in some shade
✅ Offering your pet plenty of water
✅ NEVER leave your dog unattended in a parked car
✅ Keeping your pets fur regularly groomed and cut short

If you suspect your pet is experiencing heat stroke, call us immediately on 6295 0770💛💙

⚠️ Unplanned Power Outage – Narrabundah ⚠️

We’re currently experiencing an unplanned power outage across Narrabundah and unfortunately have no power at all at the clinic. EvoEnergy has advised that power isn’t expected to be restored until around 6:10pm this evening.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this causes. 💛

Our team is still on site and caring for all patients currently hospitalised or boarding with us — they’re safe, comfortable, and being well looked after.

If you need to contact us urgently regarding an animal currently in our care, please email [email protected] and we’ll be monitoring these messages closely.

All non-urgent emails and enquiries will be responded to tomorrow once power is restored.

Thank you for your understanding and patience while we ride this out — fingers crossed the lights come back on soon! 🤞🏻🐾

VACCINATIONS💉🦠
Keeping your pet up to date with vaccinations is important for not only your pets health, but for the health of other pets!
Vaccinations help protect your dog from diseases such as parvovirus, kennel cough and leptospirosis. As well as cat flu and FIV in cats, just to name a few!
There are a few contagious illnesses that are easily spread but vaccinations can help your pet fight against those nasty diseases.

This is Mochi! Mochi recently came in to the clinic to receive his first puppy check up and vaccinations. He was such a good boy that he was rewarded with lots of treats and cuddles from Nurse Connie and Vet Bonnie!🥰🐶

💛💙Give us a call on 6295 0770 to book in your pets vaccinations!💙💛

🐱URINARY OBSTRUCTION🐱
A urinary obstruction (also known as a “blocked cat”) refers to a male cat that has a blockage in their urinary tract. It is most commonly caused by stones or crystals that form inside the bladder.
Factors like stress or diet can trigger a urinary obstruction and most of the time, a blocked cat will require immediate surgery.
Blockages can quickly become fatal so it is important to recognise the symptoms which include:
- Inability to urinate
- Straining in the litter box frequently
- Blood in urine
- Yowling (especially while attempting to urinate)
- Lethargy

Meet Scorpius! He recently presented to the clinic with a urinary obstruction. The staff at Inner South acted promptly to get Scorpius into surgery to immediately remove the blockage. After a few nights in hospital, and lots of snuggles later, he was able to go home and back to his normal routine🐱🖤

If you suspect that your cat is blocked, please call us immediately on 6295 0770💙💛
