Six winners in the two weeks since we lost Greg. I’d say I don’t know how we did it, but the truth is I do know how. With an amazing team here at home and in Sydney who have turned up every single day through the tears. With the help of friends who have shown up when we needed them most. With the clients who have given us space but maintained their faith. With the amazing foundation of knowledge and belief that Greg has left us with. We’ve done it for Greg and we’ve done it for ourselves. To honour our guy and show him that everything he worked so hard for wasn’t for nothing.

A special day today, but one that broke our Larajay hearts. It was so important to me to bring Greg home one last time. I know it’s what he would have wanted. This is where he belonged and where he was happiest. Where he was his truest self. Surrounded by his team. A chance for us to say our final goodbyes. It had been overcast and cold all day here at Myrniong, but the sun shone the entire time Greg was here.

We didn’t get a winner tonight, but we showed up. We showed up when we didn’t want to, when it would have been easier to stay at home. We showed up all week, every morning, every race meeting. We showed up for Greg.
Greg & I often spoke about Team Larajay and our Larajay Family and I can say I’ve never been more proud of our team than I am right now. Love you guys.

A memorial service will be held for Greg at the Melton harness track on Monday 12 May at 12 noon.
It will also be available to live stream for those who can’t attend.
As part of the service, friends of Greg will be offered the opportunity to stand up and share a little memory of why they loved him, should they wish to.

Thank you to everyone who has offered support. Greg was extremely well loved and respected which is why we are all struggling so much to accept the situation we find ourselves in. A huge thank you to my team at home who haven’t wavered even though they too are grieving immensely.

With an absolutely shattered heart that doesn’t want to believe it’s possibly true, I need to share the news that Greg passed away in his sleep last night. He had excitedly driven our team to NSW yesterday, with none of us possibly predicting this was in our future. His beloved son Harvey doesn’t yet understand that dad won’t be home to take him to Puppy School Graduation on Tuesday. We are heartbroken and very much still processing everything so some time and space will be appreciated. Xx

These two champs - who happen to be paddock mates - did the team proud last night! FIRST DANCE ran 1:53 & surpassed $100k in stakes in the National Guardian Solutions Pace and CHASING REX went 4 from 8 this season to claim the Beraldo Coffee Pace.

A huge congratulations to the enthusiastic team behind RAKERO REBEL who stopped the clock at 1:52.4 for the 2240m in the CNC Router Bits FFA at Melton. A big thanks to Gavin Smith for steering us in her direction when we were looking to buy a horse out of New Zealand back in 2022. Anyone familiar with her journey knows it was certainly a chequered path to success, however she’s certainly found her stride now.

There was an extra sense of pride and satisfaction when FIGHTER COMMAND raced to victory in the Nevele R Stud Pace at Melton last night. After almost losing our big boy to colic in September last year, it’s been a huge team effort to get him back to what looks to be his best. From our vet Emma Nicol who was on site within minutes, to Brian Anderson & his team at BVP who performed the life-saving surgery, to Mickey’s wonderful owners who never thought twice about throwing everything at saving their man & of course our great team at home, we’re very grateful to you all! But most impressive of all is the kind nature, resilience & desire to race shown by Mickey throughout. 🫶🏻
