Phoebe Hollamby – Veterinary Nurse

🐾How long have you been working as a Vet Nurse?
I have been qualified for 9 months but I have been working at the clinic since the start of 2020.

🐾What made you want to become a vet nurse?
I love animals and wanted to learn how to care for them.

🐾What’s your favourite procedure to assist with?
Caesareans. It is very rewarding helping both mum and babies with the whole team

🐾What’s the most rewarding part of your job?
Getting to help animals and their families and knowing that you can make a difference in a difficult time.

🐾Do you have pets? Introduce them..
Jaffa, DLH cat, 6years old
- Loves: food, sunshine and napping
- Dislikes: being fed late

Puzzle - JRT, 3years
- Loves: long walks, belly rubs and walking through puddles
- Dislikes: the rain

Monty - JRT, 1year
Loves: chewing on things, chin scratches and playing tag with his brothers
Dislikes: baths

Loves: Cuddles, food and stealing my sisters things

🐾 What do you love most about helping clients?
Helping every client feel welcome, comfortable, and genuinely cared for.

🐾 What’s the most common question you get?
"How much $?"

🐾 What do you enjoy most about working with pets?
I grew up on a farm so have always been around animals and always knew I’d love to work in this field someday.

🐾 What makes our clinic special?
The friendly atmosphere and how professional and caring all the staff are.

I have a little zoo which includes

Going to the beach and gym

Dr Lauren Madin – Veterinarian

🐾 Where did you attend veterinary school?
JCU, Townsville QLD

🐾 How many years have you been practicing?
2 years

🐾 What inspired you to become a veterinarian?
Working with and caring for animals growing up.

🐾 Do you have any special interests (surgery, dermatology, dentistry, exotics, etc.)?
I do have a soft spot for cows, but I'm still keen to learn from all aspects of mixed practice.

🐾 What’s your favorite part of working at our clinic?
My favorite part of working at our clinic is the variety of animals we get to see every day. No two cases are ever the same, which keeps things interesting and constantly challenges us to learn and adapt. It’s especially rewarding to help improve the health and wellbeing of pets and to support the people who care so much about them.
