🐾 Bunnings Adventures with the Unleashed K9 Crew! 🐾

Today, our Group Class swapped the training grounds for a real-world adventure at our local Bunnings! 🛒🐕

And boy, were there distractions EVERYWHERE! 🤩

From busy shoppers and passing cars to other dogs and, of course, the ultimate test of self-control… the famous Bunnings sausage sizzle! 🌭😂

But our four superstar students absolutely rose to the challenge! ⭐

Each dog demonstrated fantastic focus, impulse control and responsiveness to their handlers, proving just how valuable training in real-world environments can be.

👏 Four dogs, countless distractions and some seriously impressive teamwork!

I couldn't be prouder of these dogs and their dedicated handlers. Keep up the amazing work! 🐾💪

Sundays' class was all about loose leash walking past other dogs!

All 3 did an incredible job and were 100% focused on their handlers!

The rain 🌧 didn't stop these floofs from practising sone important obedience and life skills!
Holding a down stay in close proximity to other dogs, undercover out of the rain!
Don't let the weather stop you from training your dog!

I've been a bit slack lately with my own pup.
Too busy with kids and clients and life.
But after a great weekend away with a lot of dogs and seeing so much potential, I made sure I allocated some time today to spend with the Tuck Dog.
We went across the road and said hello to the cows, walked down to the bush and just hung out soaking it all in. I'm lucky he is a pretty bomb proof dog from good breeding lines, I still have to put in some effort but its a tad easier. Make sure you find time to train your dog, it will all be worth it in the long run! 💙

Yesterday I took Sebby and Tucker down to Wingello State Forest to meet up with Tuckers' mum & sister.
We had a great day and ended up running the relay charity event put on by the NSW Siberian Express All Breeds Sled Dog Club.
Tucker ran absolutely brilliantly especially having to haul my fat ass 😅
I think we may be hooked and looking forward to Canberra! Watch this Space!

Now that's how you do it!!!
3 dogs and 1 handler!
If Ben can train all 3, there's no excuse to not train your 1!

Last week I got bitten by a dog.
Yep! You read that right! In 12 years of training, this was my first dog bite. Thankfully it wasn't anything serious, just a few bruises.
Now, I'm not angry at the owners or the dog.
It was unprovoked and totally out of the blue.
This dog was very overwhelmed and acted out out of fear. He didn’t want to hurt me - if he did, I would probably be writing this from a hospital bed.

This is the reality of working with dogs.
Dog Trainers and Dog Professionals work with so many different dogs on a daily basis and unfortunately there's always a risk.

Does this make me a bad trainer? No.
Does this mean I have no idea what I'm doing? No.
This is just one of those unfortunate situations I got myself in.
This dog needs some intense training to ensure this doesn't happen again and I'm happy to report the owners are 100% committed to getting him on the right path 😀

I have referred this boy on to someone who I know will work wonders and I'm so excited to see the results!
