Wishing all of our Pet parents and their fur kids a very merry Christmas and a safe new year! 🥂🎄
Please note our clinic's closures over the break, in the case of an emergency it's a good idea to have VRH Dandenong in your fast dials. Don't forget, Web Vet is also available 24hrs, 7 days a week and can help you determine the urgency of getting your pet to the vet.
Please be vigilant with your pets over the break as we often see an increase in food related illnesses.
-Avoid Chocolate at all costs, even a tiny amount can be critically dangerous to your pets. 🍫🚫
-Avoid food with garlic and onions, these food products cause hemolytic anemia which means the your pets red blood cells explode! 😱 Should your pet accidentally get into any food with garlic and onion it is best call an emergency center immediately. 🏨
-Avoid meat rinds, your pets' pancreas will thank you for it. Pancreatitis is one of the most common emergencies we face over the holiday season and requires many days of hospitalization to treat. This can be one of the most painful medical conditions for your pet to experience. 🩹
Check your local council website for any Christmas or new years celebrations that have planned fireworks. If you need advice for reducing anxiety and stress, don't hesitate to call our jolly nurses 👩⚕️
We hope everyone has an amazing break and that you all stay safe.
All the team, Greencross Morwell
