I just LOVE training! Everyday is an opportunity to teach, learn, and build strength where it is needed. Every horse has weakness in some area and identifying where those areas are allow us to train more effectively to help our horses be the best they can be! If your horse is just not feeling right or is misbehaving, it is their way of communicating to you that they are uncomfortable. It is our job to work out where that discomfort is coming from and relieve those issues so that we can continue to progress in a positive way! Don’t hesitate to reach out to see if I can help you and your horse - 0448902785 🐴

Why consistency is the key 🔑

One of the most common things I see in horses isn’t just soreness - it’s patterns!
A tight shoulder leads to compensation through the neck… which then affects the back… which then shows up as resistance under saddle or uneven movement. Over time, these patterns start to become your horse’s “normal”. Regular sports massage sessions are about breaking that cycle.

By working consistently with your horse’s body, we can:
• Release accumulated tension before it becomes restriction
• Interrupt compensation patterns before they settle in
• Support correct muscle use and posture
• Improve comfort, movement, and overall performance

It’s not just about treating soreness when it shows up, it’s about preventing it from becoming a bigger issue in the first place.
Every horse I work with is different, and regular sessions allow me to really understand their body, track changes, and support them long-term.

If your horse has recurring tight spots, unevenness, or just isn’t feeling quite right, send me a message to see how I can help - 0448902785🐴

I LOVE using photobiomodulation (light therapy) as part of my sports therapy sessions. I use red, infrared and blue light depending on what I am aiming to target. Sometimes combining two or more:

🔴 Red Light – Supports circulation, reduces inflammation, and promotes cellular repair
🌙 Infrared Light (which we can’t see) – Penetrates deeper to target deep muscles, tendons, ligaments, and joints
🔵 Blue Light – Supports skin health and surface healing, great for wounds and irritation

Incorporating light therapy into my sessions helps to:
• Reduce inflammation – Ideal for managing soreness, swelling, and soft tissue strain
• Speed up recovery – Supports faster healing after training, competition, or injury
• Relieve muscle tension – Helps tight, overworked muscles relax and repair
• Support joint comfort – Great for horses dealing with stiffness or age-related wear and tear
• Improve circulation – Increases blood flow to targeted areas for optimal tissue health
• Is completely Non-invasive – A safe, gentle therapy that works with your horse’s cellular healing processes

By using light therapy alongside my sports massage, I am able to support your horse’s body in a more comprehensive way 🐴

⬆️ The ‘why’ behind my sports massage therapy qualification. After Stella’s colic surgery and a myriad of compensatory issues post surgery, I felt like I was continuously investigating with professionals but never fully understanding. Now with such in depth knowledge about how the body works I am better able to work alongside my vets and farrier to make sure she is feeling and working as best as she can. You never stop learning and I am already back studying again. I can’t wait to finish my next course and help even more horses and ponies 🐴

Don’t forget to get off the arena! Riding on different surfaces is so good for our horses legs, body and mind! It helps strengthen soft tissues, increase bone density, enhance balance and proprioception and prevent repetitive strain injuries. Building strength in different ways 💪🏻

What does a sports massage session with me look like? 🐴

Each session is tailored to the individual horse and includes:

• Horse history – a discussion about your horse’s background, workload, and any current or past issues
• Static assessment – assessment of conformation, posture, and any visible imbalances
• Dynamic assessment – observing movement in a straight line at walk and trot (or on the lunge if a trot-up isn’t possible), backing up and small circles
• Whole-body palpation – identifying areas of soreness, tension, or changes in muscle temperature and texture
• Sports massage treatment – incorporating a range of massage techniques, red, infrared & blue light therapy, and gua sha
• Targeted stretches – specific to your horse’s needs
• Aftercare suggestions – simple homework to help maintain results between sessions

⏱️ A session for one horse takes approximately 1.5 hours

⚠️ Limited availability for the remainder of January
