Carpet Moss 🌿✨

This lovely selection of moss is headed to a wedding in QLD, to be used as table centre pieces.

I love seeing the creative ways my customers use their moss.

Living on acreage has taught me that looking after the land isn't always a particularly photogenic exercise.

Sometimes it's planting, sometimes it's pruning, sometimes it's removing invasive species, and sometimes it's managing accumulated vegetation.

Different ecosystems need different approaches.

Nature is wonderfully complicated. Which is part of why I love it.

I keep being told that moss grows slowly.

Here's a myth buster for you.

Anyone else agree that pine trees look like they're flipping you off?

If you took 10 minutes in the garden today, what could you find?

Hi I'm Lana, I'm 35 and I still climb trees.

This is one of the things that made me realise just how tough moss can be. 🌱

Many common herbicides target processes in vascular plants. Mosses aren’t vascular plants — no roots or internal plumbing system moving water around like grasses and weeds have.

So while the vegetation around these roadside reflectors had browned off after spraying, the moss was still green.

It’s something I’ve been watching here for a while now.

Moss is often described as incredibly delicate, but the more I observe it, the more I realise just how resilient it can be.
