🚨We found a paralysis tick…🚨

During a routine groom on Bessy the curly retriever at , we discovered a Paralysis Tick!

This is your reminder — they are out there, and they can be life-threatening if not caught early.

🤔 What is a paralysis tick?
A paralysis tick is a small parasite that attaches to your dog and feeds on their blood, releasing a toxin that can cause serious illness.

⚠️ Signs to watch for:
• Weakness or wobbling
• Lethargy or unusual tiredness
• Loss of appetite
• Vomiting or gagging
• Difficulty breathing

If left untreated, paralysis can progress quickly — which is why early detection is so important.

🛁 How grooming helps:
Regular grooming isn’t just about keeping your dog looking good — it allows us to thoroughly check through the coat and skin, especially in those hard-to-see areas.

💚 What you can do at home:
• Check your dog daily (especially after walks)
• Focus on ears, neck, under collar, between toes
• Keep up with tick prevention treatments
• Book regular grooms to help us help you

🚨If you ever find a paralysis tick or notice symptoms — please contact your vet immediately!🚨

We were able to safely remove the tick and notify the owner straight away — and this is exactly why we take such care during every groom 🐾
