Judge number 3 is

Ash Keele

Ash will be judging our novice class with the help of Lori & Jacqie

Ash had her first competition in March of 2023 placing 1st out of 6 in teddy bear class. Since then she has entered numerous competitions in Asian fusion, salon, gundog and AOPB resulting in 5 best in group and 3 runner up best in show titles. Through consistent practice and feedback she reached master level in the gundog category within just over two years of grooming experience.

Ash is a senior groomer at Hair of the Dog Melton, starting as a bather in 2022 she has eagerly gained knowledge in all salon trims And then stepping up to breed trims and hand stripping. Ash has spent her personal time gaining knowledge on breed specifics from mentors and breed specialists to enhance her grooms for the competition ring.

Ash is overjoyed for the opportunity to begin sharing the knowledge she has accumulated.

Our 2nd judge for this competition is

Jacqie Giggins!

Jacqie will be judging all levels

Jacqie has been grooming for over 10 years, working in both corporate and private salons before opening her own home salon, Pet-a-Dog Grooming, in 2020.
She started competing in 2018 with her black and tan Cavalier and has since competed with a variety of breeds including Cavaliers, Springer Spaniels, American Cockers, Poodles, and Lowchen, in the Poodle, APOB, Gundog, asian fusion and Dual Duel classes.
In 2023, Jacqie proudly won her first Best in Show with her Cavalier and has earned multiple Best in Group awards across Gundog and AOPB classes in that time.
Alongside grooming, Jacqie shows her Cavaliers and American Cockers in conformation, earning awards such as NIS, NISS, RUNIS, RUNISS, BIG, RUIG, Classes in group/show and earned championship titles on all 4 of her dogs and a Neuter Grand Championship while gaining a strong understanding of canine structure, handling and presentation.

Jacqie is passionate about creating a positive, inclusive grooming industry and loves supporting fellow groomers through education, mentorship and other projects.

She’s excited to be on the other side of the table and can’t wait to see the amazing talent stepping into the ring.

The competition will be held Sunday 14th December

We recommend dropping tables etc off the day before if you are able to, this keeps things running smoothly and allows us to start grooming at 8am.

Our running order will be very much the same as last year but we will be starting at 8am instead of 8.30 to allow time for a lunch break and for a 4pm finish time.

Schedule will be available very soon!

We have 3 amazing judges this year..

First judge who is judging all levels is..

Lori Keele!

In her 30th year of grooming, Lori represented Australia in Malaysia and Korea as part of the 2024 Dog Australia National Grooming Team. She was awarded medals at both events.

Lori’s competition journey began in 2001 when she won first place with her customer’s miniature poodle, Fifi, in a Dutch trim. Over the years, she has won many place ribbons and trophies, including multiple best in groups and Best in show awards. She has had success in Gundog, Poodle, Terrier, purebred hand scissor, salon freestyle, Asian fusion, clipper only, creative, duo, and team sections. She has competed at master level for over 15 years.

Lori’s salon, Hair of the Dog Melton, has been operating in the western suburbs of Melbourne for over 10 years. She has many customers and followers.

Lori enjoys teaching and sharing her skills and grooming knowledge. This led her to complete her Certificate 4 in Training and Assessment in 2022. It’s rewarding for her to learn new styles and watch others develop their technique and showcase their talents.
