Closure Notice – Wednesday 26 August

Hi everyone, just a quick update from the Meow & Friends Vet team.

We’ll be closed on Wednesday, 26 August for important team training. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. If you have any non‑urgent queries, you can email us at [email protected] and we’ll respond once we’re back on Thursday.

After sticking to a personalised weight management plan designed by our veterinary team, Mishka has achieved an incredible 12 kg weight loss! 🐾

Not only is he looking fantastic, but he's also feeling healthier, moving more comfortably, and enjoying life with much more energy.

Bird Flu – What Our Community Needs to Know

Australia is currently free of H5N1, but the risk from migratory wild birds is higher than usual. If you spot a sick or dead bird, here’s what to do:

Avoid contact — Don’t touch or move the bird. This helps prevent disease spread.

Record details — Note the time, date, location, and what you observed. Photos/videos are helpful if taken without handling the bird.

Report immediately — Call the Emergency Animal Disease Hotline: 1800 675 888 (available 24/7).

Quick action protects our wildlife, pets, and community. Spread the word to help keep Australia HPAI‑free.

📣 Public Holiday Closure – Monday 8th June

Meow and friends vet will be closed on Monday, 8th June for the King’s Birthday public holiday.

If your pet needs urgent care during this time, please contact your nearest 24/7 emergency veterinary hospital.

We’ll reopen as normal on Tuesday and look forward to seeing you and your furry family members then.

Celebrating Airlie! ✨
Today we’re incredibly proud to share a huge milestone for one of our own. Airlie has officially completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing, and she achieved this while training right here with us at Meow and Friends Vet.
She brings warmth to every patient, support to every teammate, and heart to everything she does.
We’re so lucky to have watched her grow into the amazing vet nurse she is today, and even luckier to have her as part of our Meow and Friends family.
