We have a busy few days ahead! Will we see you at any events this weekend?

1️⃣ On Saturday join us for a 👻 Halloween 👻 themed Adoption Day at Petstock Coburg! Come along and chat to our team about adoption and fostering and pat some cute snoots!
📍 Petstock Coburg - 228-238 Sydney Road, Coburg
📆 Saturday 31 October, 10am-1pm
Dress ups are HIGHLY ENCOURAGED! Bring your snoot in their Halloween costume to say hi 👋🏻🎃

2️⃣On Monday join us at the Nup to the Cup Parade hosted by the Coalition for the Protection of Racehorses 🐎. It is a cruelty-free replacement to the Melbourne Cup, where we can celebrate animals, not exploit them!

3️⃣ On Tuesday, spend your public holiday with us for a day of compassion, connection, and cruelty-free celebration at Welcome to Thornbury, featuring Melbourne’s best vegan food, market stalls, DJs, flash tattoos, animal charities, cocktails, an epic prize draw, and special guest speaker Georgie Purcell MP.

🪽🌈 Rest in peace Archie 🌈🪽

Archie has devastatingly passed away. Archie was an incredible Greyt Greys ambassadog - he was a foster brother so many hounds, an amazing life drawing model and an excellent assistant and toy tester for .day.pets 🐛

We send all of our love and strength to his pawrents Cecilia and David during this time.

Sleep well perfect Archie. You will never be forgotten 💙🤍🕊

Hi, I'm Melman (A.K.A Mel, Buddy or Ringo) 🐾

I'm a gentle-hearted giant with a big personality and an even bigger love for walkies! I'm a social butterfly who believes every person and dog I meet is a potential new best friend. I love being wherever my humans are, and if you hear my little teeth chattering, that's just me telling you how much I'm enjoying my pats! 💙

My likes are...
🚶 Walkies, walkies and MORE walkies!
🐶 Meeting new doggy friends
🥰 Saying hello to absolutely everyone I meet
🍖 FOOD!
☕ Café adventures where I can collect pats from strangers
🚗 Car rides and adventures with my humans
🛏️ Having a big, comfy bed to stretch my long legs
💤 A good snooze once my social battery runs out

My dislikes are...
🐱 Cats
🪜 Stairs and slippery floors can still be a little tricky, but I'm getting braver every day!
🔊 Loud, chaotic environments
👶 Little humans who might accidentally get knocked over by my very enthusiastic tail
🌙 Being disturbed during my important evening beauty sleep

My pawfect home would look like...
🏡 A loving, relaxed home with plenty of comfy places to snooze
💙 Humans who are home more often than not, because I love having company
🚶 An active family who enjoys daily walks, outings and little adventures
🐶 A canine companion would be lovely, but I'm also happy being your one and only
👧 A quieter household with no children or older children (10+)

I do have something called Pannus, which means I need one eye drop in each eye every day. But don't worry, I'm a very good boy and take them like a champ!

I'm still figuring out a few things about life as a pet, but I'm learning more every day. What I already know is that I have so much love to give, and I can't wait to find my very own humans to share it with.

If you're looking for a gentle, affectionate, slightly clingy best friend who will make you feel like the most important person in the world, I think we might be pawfect for each other 🥹💙

🏡 Happy Home 💙Emma and Lilly🏡

We reached out to Lilly's pawrent Emma to see how she's settling in to couch life. Here's what she had to say:

🐾 "We've had Lilly for 6 months!"

💕 "Lilly settled in well and it didn't take her long to get comfortable. She’s a confident girl and had a great experience with her foster family. The Greyt greys team were so helpful along the trial period and always happy to help. Within the first few days, Lilly was happily snoozing, playing with her new toys and cuddling in bed with me."

😍 "She settled into my life effortlessly. She’s been the perfect dog for me, and it was love at first sight!"

🏡 "I chose to adopt a greyhound because I believe in 'Adopt don't Shop'! I wanted to give a greyhound a loving home. A greyhound (specifically Lilly) fits into my life well as she loves sleeping and a one hour walk each day (with some zoomies!).

🥔 "She lives up to the couch potato name that many greyhounds get! I live in an apartment so finding a dog who would suit this living style was important."

🐶 "She has a few tricks and quirks - she can do the rare greyhound sit! And sometimes only one of her ears goes up and the other stays down"🤣

😈 "She sleeps with her eyes open and mouth open sometimes with her tongue hanging out, it’s a funny sight!"

🧸"Lilly is obsessed with all her squeaky toys and cardboard or paper. Her favourite treats include peanut butter, chicken and sardines. She loves going on beach walks and rolling in the grass. She also loves fully hiding under blankets when it’s cold! She has such a fun personality, and I love her more and more each day."

A big thanks to our dedicated Foster Carers Zoe & Ewa and Case Manager Tash who helped get Lilly ready for adoption and find her forever family!
