A tiny chip can make a BIG difference! ❤️🐶

This gorgeous little escape artist had lots of fun visiting us at Marsden Vet Surgery! 😂💕 Thankfully, she was microchipped and the owners details were up to date, which meant we could scan her chip and reunite her with her very happy owner! 🏡🐾

A huge THANK YOU to the kind person who brought her into the clinic so we could scan her microchip. ❤️ It takes a community to keep our furry friends safe!

✨ A friendly reminder: Microchipping is so important, and keeping your contact details up to date on the chip gives your pet the best chance of finding their way home if they ever go on an unexpected adventure!

😻🤪 Fun Fact Friday 😎🤩

Cat whiskers are thicker and coarser than regular fur and have roots that are three times deeper. They are strategically located on the cat’s face to provide sensory equipment to help guide a cat through the day, aiding vision and helping the cat to navigate, much like antennae on insects.

Although the number of whiskers will vary by breed, most cats have 12 whiskers arranged in four rows on each cheek.

Dogs possess a biological signature on their nose that is unique to each individual animal, much like a human fingerprint. This distinctive surface is found on the rhinarium, the hairless, moist end of the dog’s muzzle, which includes the nostrils. The pattern of ridges, lines, and dimples on the rhinarium creates a one-of-a-kind print, just like human fingerprint's.
