🌟 Proud Trainer Moment! 🌟

As August comes to a close, we just had to share some incredible client wins! 🎉
Between Tricks and Scent Work, our crew absolutely smashed it:

🐾 9 passes
🥇 6 x 1st place
🥈 1 x 2nd place
🥉 2 x 3rd place

A huge thank you to the clubs for putting on the trials, and an even bigger thank you to the judges, stewards, and trial managers who make it all possible. 🙌

What started as a short training program has quickly turned into a full-blown addiction—and we couldn’t be prouder of the journey so far! 💚🐶

Beautiful Loki is learning all about stairs today!!

Teaching your puppy to walk up and down stairs might seem simple, but for them, it’s a whole new world of wobbly heights and strange surfaces and lot’s of pup’s struggle to navigate stairs to start.

Why teaching your pup to master stairs is important:
🐾 Builds confidence and reduces fear of unfamiliar terrain
🐾 Strengthens coordination and muscle control
🐾 Prepares them for real-life situations (multi-level homes, vet clinics, parks)

How to help:
🐾 Start with just a few steps—don’t rush the full staircase
🐾 Use treats and praise to encourage each attempt
🐾 Support them gently if needed, but let them figure it out
🐾 Keep sessions short and positive!

What’s better than one Corgi? Two! 🐾🐾

Meet Honey and Teddy – these two adorable Corgis are currently in training to build their skills both individually and as a team!

It’s easy to assume that dogs will just “figure it out” together, but the truth is:
👉 If your dog struggles on their own, they’ll find it even harder when another dog is added to the mix.

That’s why we focus on building strong individual foundations first—confidence, calmness, and clarity—before asking our dogs to work as a duo.

One of the biggest requests we get at Mackay K9 is teaching dog’s how to walk on a loose leash and with over a combined 80kg at the end of their leads, Ollie and Rex’s owner didn’t stand much chance of stopping them when ever they decided to take off.

This is the result so far at Ollie and Rex’s 3rd lesson, and whilst we still have a way to go they’re well and truely on the right path. We’re so excited to be apart of this amazing team’s training journey.
