We’re incredibly grateful to Community Bank Bullsbrook-Ellenbrook for pledging their support to help us educate and empower our community in wildlife rescue and care.
Thanks to their generous assistance, we’ve launched the first stage of our wildlife education initiative – our ‘Glovebox’ Brochures. These handy guides are designed to be kept in your car and provide clear, practical steps on how to help injured or distressed native animals you may come across.
With community support like this, we’re one step closer to ensuring every person knows how to take action and every animal has a better chance at survival. 🦘🦅
Thank you for backing local wildlife and helping us spread life-saving knowledge throughout our community!

🦘💛 We Need Your Help Naming This Little One! 💛🦘
Meet our newest rescue, a tiny 700g Western Grey joey who has already captured our hearts. He was found safely tucked in his mumma’s pouch after she sadly passed away. Now in care, he’s warm, safe, and beginning his journey with us.
This sweet boy has a beautiful, gentle nature and is what's known as a velvet meaning his soft fur has just started to come in. He’s calm and cuddly.
But… he doesn’t have a name yet!
We’d love your help finding the perfect name for him. Something soft, kind, maybe even a little bush inspired 🌿 Drop your suggestions in the comments below, we can’t wait to hear what you come up with! 🥰
💚 Can You Help Us Care for Him? 💚
As always, rescues like this rely on kind hearted donations from our community. Formula, heat pads, and vet care add up quickly so every dollar makes a difference.
If you'd like to support this little one and others in care, donations can be made to:

We were called today by Sarah who often have our beautiful kangaroos on her property. This big boy was underweight and has a serious foot injury. We have taken him into care to help him fight the infection and be released back happy and healthy and tick free.
Thank you to Rocky Ridge Wildlife Sanctuary for assisting in this amazing rescue.

Meet the Tawny Frogmouth – Nature’s Master of Disguise!
Nope, that’s not a broken tree branch… it’s a tawny frogmouth!
These quirky Australian birds are often mistaken for owls, but they’re actually more closely related to nightjars. While they do share some owl like traits (like being nocturnal), tawny frogmouths are in a league of their own.
🪵 Fun Facts:
🔹 Camouflage Champions: During the day, they sit perfectly still with their heads tilted up, blending into tree branches so well they vanish from sight.
🔹 Wide-Mouthed Wonders: Their name comes from their huge, frog mouths, which help them sn**ch up insects, spiders, and even small reptiles at night.
🔹 Monogamous Mates: These birds mate for life and take turns incubating their eggs. Parenting goals, right?
🔹 Not Owls!: Despite the owlish vibe, they don’t have strong talons and don’t hunt the same way. They’re sit and wait predators, lazy geniuses!
🔹 Grumpy Looks, Sweet Hearts: Their perpetually disgruntled expression hides a chill personality. They're gentle and totally harmless to humans.
Whether you're a bird nerd or just love weird nature facts, the tawny frogmouth is here to surprise and delight! 💫
📸 Next time you're in Australia, look twice at that tree branch it might just blink at you. 👀🌳

🌿 Foliage Needed for 7 Baby Possums in Care – Can You Help? 🐾
We currently have 7 beautiful baby possums in care here in Lower Chittering, and we’re reaching out to our wonderful local community for help with fresh foliage and flowers to keep them healthy and happy.
What we’re looking for:
Possums feed on a variety of native and exotic plants, and we’re especially after fresh cuttings from:
🌼 Native species:
• Banksias
• Bottlebrushes
• Acacia (Wattle)
• Lilly Pilly
🌸 Exotic species (from your garden!):
• Roses
• Fuchsias
• Gardenias
• Camellias
These little ones love the nectar, pollen, and flower buds from these plants. While their main diet is leaves, the flowers provide essential nutrients that help them grow strong and thrive.
🪵 If you’re pruning your garden or have access to healthy, chemical-free plants, we’d love to take any suitable cuttings off your hands! Fresh is best, but even a small regular supply is greatly appreciated.
Please message or comment below if you can help or want to know more. We can arrange pickup/drop-off to suit you.
Thank you so much for supporting local wildlife.

Sadly this beautiful Boobok Owl was sent over the rainbow. The damage to the wing was just massive.
Thank you to Vetwest Ellenbrook for your amazing care again!

What a busy time... we have 2 new possums - Henry and Katherine who are in recovery from losing their mums to rodenticide poisoning. The nocturnal room is almost at capacity with 8 babies in care.
A big shout out to our vollies for their hard work in chopping fruit and veges twice daily to keep these hungry little furballs well fed.
Once they were sorted our friends at Chittering Wildlife Carers contacted us to assist caring for a beautiful chunky bobtail that had been found after being attacked by a dog. He has some nasty injuries so will be off to the vet tomorrow for some much needed treatment.
Whilst the team were dealing with him, our volunteer Felicity Gill journeyed to The Vines to collect a Pink & Grey that was very unwell. We will keep you posted on his recovery.
