This chart represents a year of callouts, long days, late nights, tough decisions, small wins, and life-changing outcomes at Emerald Acres Animal Rescue.
In 2025, our rescues spanned far beyond one species with a total of rescues 347:

Each percentage represents animals that arrived frightened, injured, orphaned, displaced, or abandoned and each one was met with care, patience, and unwavering commitment.

You are the backbone of everything we do. From emergency rescues and daily husbandry to transport, construction, admin, fundraising, and emotional support, you give your time, energy, and hearts freely. We see you, and we are endlessly grateful.

THANK YOU & URGENT REQUEST
Firstly, a huge thank you to everyone who has donated supplies, time, and support in 2025. Your generosity has made a big difference to the lives of the animals in our care. We truly couldn’t do this without you.
To gear up for 2026 we are urgently seeking assistance with the following items and support to help us continue and expand our rescue work:
🪵 Materials Needed
• Copper logs – 2.4m long - 30 needed
• Tension wire
• Thick shade cloth (rolls)
• Fake grass and roll-on turf
🚜 Machinery & Skills Needed
Use of a Bobcat & driver to help commence development of an eco pond for turtles and water birds
We are also urgently seeking cash donations to help us purchase purpose-built aviaries for our birds and possums. The best price we can source is $535 per aviary, and each one provides a safe, secure, and appropriate environment for animals in our care. Every dollar donated goes directly toward improving animal welfare, and even partial contributions help bring us closer to purchasing additional aviaries. Your support will have a direct and lasting impact.
Every donation whether cash, materials, machinery, or time helps us provide safer, better environments for our animals.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Can you spare 4 hours per week at a set time or more?
Forget those New Year’s resolutions and give back in a way that truly matters.
We are urgently seeking volunteers and are desperately in need of assistance to help care for our animals and maintain the sanctuary.
🦘 Animals needing care include:
Kangaroos, native birds, possums and more..
🛠️ Other vital roles include:
• Grounds keeping & planting native species
• Fundraising support
• Enclosure building & maintenance
No matter your experience, every helping hand counts and makes an immediate difference.
⏰ Mimimum Commitment: 4 hours per week

This Christmas Eve brought us a very special gift, a beautiful new arrival, a little female WG. Sadly her momma passed but the little one is fighting.
A huge thank you to the gorgeous couple who made the long drive all the way from Guilderton to EAAR Inc. Your kindness, compassion, and commitment truly warmed our hearts. You were amazing, and we are so grateful.
They have lovingly named this sweet girl Mary, and she is already safe, cared for, and surrounded by love this festive season.

Another successful relocation by our snake handler Mick. A beautiful little dugite had found its way into a ladies kitchen. Her husband managed to trap it under a bucket before our arrival, making it easy to track down.

Although this helps us in catching the snake, it is always a risk to approach these little guys. If possible, just keep eyes on it. Put towels across any doorways to stop it getting into other parts of the house. Wait for a professional snake handler to arrive.

8 out of 10 snake bites occur when people approach or harrass a snake. They will always try and get away from you. They only bite when threatened or trapped.
