MEET TOKAY – OUR BEAUTIFUL LITTLE SURVIVOR
Tokay's story began at The Vines, on Tokay Lane, where tragedy struck.
Sadly, Tokay's mumma became a fence hanger, losing her life after becoming caught on a fence. Her precious little girl was left alone, frightened and in a terrible state.
Thankfully, a wonderful member of the public noticed something was wrong and gave Emerald Acres Animal Rescue a call. 💗
When Tokay arrived in our care, she had already experienced more trauma than any little joey should ever have to endure.
But this little girl is a fighter! 💪🦘
We are delighted to share that Tokay has settled beautifully into her new home and is now receiving all the love, specialised care and attention she needs to grow stronger every day.
While we can never replace her mumma, we can give Tokay the very best chance of returning to the wild, where she belongs. 💚
And now her journey begins...
Tokay will spend approximately 2 years in care, growing, learning and developing the skills she needs to survive independently in the wild.
Her journey will take her through:
Nursery – Where our tiniest joeys receive intensive care, warmth and specialised milk feeds.
Kindy – Where they begin exploring, gaining confidence and developing their independence.
Primary School – Learning natural behaviours, socialising with other joeys and becoming more independent.
High School – Preparing for life in the wild with minimal human interaction.
College – The pre-release site, where Tokay will prepare for the biggest adventure of her life!
And then, when the time is right, the gates will open, and Tokay will have the opportunity to walk away from human care and begin her new life in the wild, away from people and roads. YOU CAN BE PART OF TOKAY'S JOURNEY!
For just $50 per month, you can become Tokay's sponsor and help us give this beautiful little girl the future she deserves.
As a sponsor, you will receive:
A special Welcome to Sponsorship Pack
A beautiful photo of Tokay and some special goodies!
Fortnightly email updates, allowing you to follow her progress, celebrate her milestones and watch her grow from a tiny orphan into a beautiful wild kangaroo.
Your sponsorship helps provide specialised milk, food, veterinary treatment, enrichment and the ongoing rehabilitation needed to prepare Tokay for release.
