📱🐾 WE’RE LOOKING FOR A CREATIVE SOCIAL MEDIA VOLUNTEER! 🐾📱

Do you love animals, have a creative flair, and know your way around social media? We’d love to hear from you! 💚

Animal Rights and Rescue Group (ARRG) is looking for a passionate Social Media Volunteer to help us share our stories, showcase the animals in our care, and spread the word about the work we do in our community.

✨ What you’ll be doing:
🐶 Creating engaging content featuring our rescue animals
📸 Capturing photos and videos around the centre
🎬 Editing videos and creating eye-catching reels
📱 Helping plan and schedule content using Meta Business Suite
💚 Supporting fundraising campaigns and helping more people discover the work we do

🌟 What we’re looking for:

- Experience using Meta Business Suite and managing social media content
- Skills in video editing and creating engaging reels
- A creative eye and plenty of ideas!
- Someone who is reliable, enthusiastic, and happy to get involved
- A love for animals and a passion for animal welfare

🗓️ Commitment: Ideally, we’re looking for someone who can come into our centre once or twice a fortnight to help plan, film, and create content with our team.

This is a wonderful opportunity to use your creative skills to make a real difference to animals in need. Your content could help our animals find loving homes, inspire donations, attract volunteers, and support our rescue work across the community. 🐾

Barnaby has not yet been tested with other cats or dogs, so any introductions to resident pets would need to be managed carefully.

🚨 TICK PARALYSIS CASES ARE ON THE RISE — PLEASE PROTECT YOUR PETS! 🚨

Veterinary clinics are seeing high numbers of tick paralysis cases, and we want to remind everyone that prevention can save your pet’s life.

💔 ARRG has just spent more than $3,000 (reduced to this amount after the clinic absorbed much of the cost) trying to save an eight-month-old Rottweiler puppy who was surrendered to a veterinary clinic with tick paralysis. Tragically, despite the efforts to save her, it was already too late.

No animal should have to suffer this way, and no family should have to face the heartbreak of losing their beloved pet to something that may have been preventable.

🐾 PLEASE TAKE THESE PRECAUTIONS:
✅️Keep your pets on a vet-recommended tick prevention treatment all year round.
✅ Check your pets regularly, especially after walks in bushland or long grass.
✅ Know the warning signs, including wobbliness, weakness, changes in their bark and difficulty breathing.
✅ Seek veterinary attention immediately if you suspect tick paralysis.

⚠️ Tick paralysis can progress rapidly and become fatal. Do not wait for symptoms to worsen.

Prevention is generally far less costly than emergency treatment, which can run into thousands of dollars.

🛠️ ARRG Working Bee – Volunteers Needed!
Our next Working Bee is coming up and we’re looking for a few helping hands to keep the centre looking its best.

📅 Sunday November 8th
⏰ 9am – 12pm
📍 ARRG Centre, 135 Three Chain Rd, Lismore

These monthly Working Bees help us tackle gardening, painting, small repairs, and general tidy‑ups around the facility. If you enjoy practical jobs and want to support the rescue in a hands‑on way, we’d love to have you join us.

What you need to know:
🔹Volunteers must be 18+
🔹You’ll need to sign a volunteer agreement on arrival
🔹Please bring water, a hat, and gardening gloves
🔹This is a maintenance day only — there will be NO animal contact or handling

You’ll work in small teams on jobs like gardening, painting, and simple handyman tasks.

Every hour donated helps us keep the centre safe, functional, and welcoming for the animals in our care.

Happy Adoption Day to Flopsy and Cottontail! 🥳🐰

We're so proud of how far these two have come. Initially they came to us in very poor condition after being found dumped out near Uki.

They have since blossomed both physically and behavioural wise. From not wanting to go near people to happy to take pats and lounge around on a lap or two.

We'll miss having their sweet faces around though we're ecstatic to see them finally land themselves a forever home and together. 🥰
