Here is a short video demonstrating how valuable a solid stay can be. It doesn't happen overnight. It requires many repeated short sessions, building in time, distance and eventually disappearing from view. For those working on Relaxation Protocol, you can see how even without asking to stay, the dogs can learn to just wait for your return. Remember, slow and steady, reinforcement for each successful return and if the dog breaks the stay, make the next round easier. Feel free to share your photos or video of your dog doing a cool stay!

I am so thrilled to present my first group of very brave dogs, who graduated from my first ever Cooperative Handling Course!!
I am so proud of these dogs and beyond words as to how far they've come in 6 weeks. These dogs all suffered traumas relating to grooming, veterinary care or previous owners and whilst the traumas were not intentional, they were enough to create immense fear and distrust when it came to being touched, handled, examined, brushed, clipped or needled. The distrust was not just with the groomer or vet, but for some, they were also suspicious of their owner's intentions. Tonight, we were able to examine the dogs, listen to their hearts, check ears, eyes, teeth, run hands over the bodies, practice giving injections, file nails and so much more. If you have a dog that struggles at the groomers or vets, struggles with general maintenance at home and you are interested in joining the next round, please contact us. Congratulations everyone. Could not be prouder of you all!

Big Happy Birthday to this big red boy, Zoli! To think that a year ago his mum could barely leave his sight as he struggled so much with attachment issues. It took a lot of patience and perseverance but look at him now, celebrating his birthday with his day care besties and mum nowhere in sight!
