Werribee Obedience Dog Club Inc. To promote and educate dog owners regarding responsible dog ownership and basic obedience training The Werribee Obedience Dog Club Inc. trading as DOGS Victoria.

is a community-based non-profit voluntary organisation whose aim is to promote and educate dog owners regarding responsible dog ownership and basic obedience training. The Club first started back in 1976. The Club consists of a friendly, helpful group of people and new members are always welcome. The club is affiliated with the Victorian Canine Association Inc. Our Committee and Instructors are al

l un-paid volunteers who give their time freely towards providing this service to the local community. Dogs of all breeds and ages and sizes are trained at the Club and it does not matter whether you wish to train your dog to competitive trialing standard or simply to teach the basics and have an obedient family pet. We have classes ranging from Puppies to trial standard. We teach basic heeling, sit, drop, stays, recall and socialisation. We have staggered training times, starting with Puppies & Induction Class commencing at 1.00pm, Class 1, 4 & 5 at 2.00pm & Class 2 & 3 at 3.00pm. Training is conducted in a class structure. Class sessions go for approximately 50 minutes. You can purchase leads and various collars from the club at reasonable prices.

With temperatures forecast to reach the high 30s this week, please take extra care of your dogs at home. Ensure they have constant access to plenty of fresh, cool water, and we recommend providing a second bowl if one is accidentally knocked over during the day. Remember that footpaths and roads can reach much higher temperatures and may burn paws, so avoid walking dogs during the hottest parts of the day. Provide shade or a cool indoor area and monitor closely for signs of heat stress. Your dog’s health, comfort, and wellbeing are especially important in these hot conditions.

As we welcome the New Year, I would like to wish all our members and their dogs a very happy New Year. Thank you for being part of our club and for the great atmosphere you help create. May the coming year be filled with progress in training, shared achievements, wagging tails, and plenty of time doing what we all enjoy most: working and learning alongside our dogs. Looking forward to another fun year of training, learning, and enjoying time with our dogs.

Warm regards,

Christmas Message to Club Members

As we come to the end of another training year, I would like to thank all our members for your commitment, enthusiasm, and support throughout the season.

From weekly training sessions to trials, workshops, and club events, it has been wonderful to see both handlers and dogs developing their skills and confidence. The effort put in by our instructors, volunteers, and members behind the scenes has ensured the club continues to provide a positive and supportive environment for training and learning.

On behalf of the committee, I wish you, your families, and of course your dogs, a very Merry Christmas and a safe and relaxing holiday period. We hope you enjoy some well-earned downtime and return refreshed and ready for another rewarding year of training ahead.

Thank you for being part of our club community. We look forward to seeing you all in the New Year.

Warm regards,
Ray
